Does the question imply that they are not of this gender?

   Or does it imply that, because these players have, between them, dominated female tennis for very long periods, that pre-school rules should also apply to tennis, and that every player should be allowed a turn at winning?

I think they should definitley be able to play tennis, as they have a right to partake in whatever they choose to. Just because they have dominated the sport for so long, it does not mean they have to give the othe competitors a chance, as im sure most people wouldn't either. Also, they would claim that they were unfairly banned if they got firced out of the sport. In my opinion, as long as they play good tennis..

BRILLIANT QUESTION, and the answer is YES! They are the closest thing to a confirmation of the American Dream that there is. To have grown up where they grew up and developed not just a taste but a PASSION for a sport that is, like golf, EXTREMELY exclusive of the POOR and the NON-WHITE, and on top of all that, to reach the level of not just good, not just excellent, but in a sport that requires power, quickness, endurance, and intelligence to reach the level of SUPERIOR--well, it's hard to explain without concluding that America is truly the Land of Opportunity. The very fact that so many people WISH the Williams sisters COULD BE barred from competing (simply because it pains them to see that the most spoiled and outspoken of the rich, white, incestuous daddy's/mommy's girls on the WTA tour like Elena Dementieva are simply INFERIOR at this sport that requires power, quickness, endurance, and intelligence) weakens the idea that underlies America--that opportunity should be a given. cheers!

yes they have worked hard to be the best in their game and deserve to play, however i do feel they could beat some men (none in the top 25 though)

Sorry, let me just pick myself up off the floor! Erm, well they ARE very man like, but yes, I think they should. My thought is that they should be made to play each other before the final so that it's not always them playing each other in the final every year - BORING!!!!!

why not, why just because they are bigger and stronger then most players out there.. does not mean everything....

really they are only most dominant at wimbledon because the grass helps the big servers and power hitters a little more

but other events sometimes they can lose quite easily and to players ranked alot lower... at this years french open both the sisters crashed out in the 3rd round... to players ranked much beneath them..

but it will be a bit easier for them considering justine henin is retired now...

Why should they be excluded? They are a great advertisment for tennis and are both wonderful players. Are you suggesting that they are not ladies?
