  1. I do miss everything traditionally VFL; the game was hard and tough back then, none of these sissy rules and ridiculous free-kicks that you see awarded now! I get excited when I see footage from older footy days and the old VFL jumper made with the acrylic that made you itch!

However, they have come too far in the corporate world now to ever go back. They have Americanised everything in this country including our sport and ruined it with corporate greed. Unfortunatly it will never be the same.

If you want a taste of the old days, go watch your local team one weekend :)

  2. nah i think its good having it as AFL. the Brisbane/Collingwood game in round 2 was good to watch coz they were awfully close.

  3. Do that and player salaries, interest in the game, attendances, and corporate sponsorships would plummet.

I have heard Eastern States commentators describe the Western Derby games as some of the best and toughest footy they have seen.

If the person who asks this question is 'bored' then he is not in good company.

  4. No, all states should be included, it also makes the competition more interesting. VFL was scrapped for a reason, i assume.

  5. NO!

  6. and have a national comp with no vic teams in it? Sure why not I'm with you mate. I agree with you that most Melbourne teams are not up to the standard of the AFL and I'm sure their long suffering fans would get some joy in the VFL.

  7. i dont think it is a good thing to have a state-based league. it is far better (and brings in far more money) to have a national league. besides, this way the best players can play against the best players. other wise some would go back to the wafl/sanfl.

the other poster was also right, there is a vfl.

  8. exactly it should be kept as the AFL 16 or 18 teams, no relegations just eactly the same as it is today

  9. yes

the interstate teams attracts the tossers to our once great game

  10. was the afl called the vfl?

    i know nothing

  11. i could call u anything right now but im not but u are so stupid wat just coz Vic's r sooooooooooo good u have to get a life

  12. Personally, I think that it should be a 20 team comp.

    10 teams in Vic

    1 in NSW

    1 in QLD

    2 in SA

2 in WA (as it already is)

    then

    1 in Tas

    1 in ACT

    1 in the NT

and then to make it 20 teams, probs another one in North Queensland or the Gold Coast (where AFL is growing the fastest outside of Victoria).

  13. i agree

  14. bring back the biff!

  15. yes

the good old days with just 12 teams

  16. No way!!! AFL should stay the same where ALL states are included! And for pity sake the AFL is introducing 2 new teams in soon!!! and why should there just Victorian teams? and so what if sme suck??? Essendon, Richmond, Carlton and Melbourne are DREADFUL!!! Go the Dockers!!! :)
