Most of these players went into the hall of fame with the cardinals as their primary team and pepper martin played an excellent 13 seasons with the cardinals so should they retire all their numbers?

  1. Schoendienst's #2 IS retired.

The Cardinals can do whatever they please, but I'm not seeing the merit of such a rare honor in any of these players.

  2. Maybe Mize and Schoendienst, but honestly I wish the sports world wouldn't do this.  Let's say your entire list recieved that honor: that would be about 10% of all of the avaliable numbers for Cardinals to wear, gone never to be used again.  As time goes on I think this will be a problem down the road, because athletes are only going to get better and better.  You don't have to plaster that number on a home run fence forever to honor a player.  Here's a good point, does Babe Ruth deserve to wear #3 anymore than Alex Rodridguez.  He had to change #'s because of that c**p, and by the end of his career he'll have better stats than RuthA banner hanging some where with thier name on it is just fine, or a bronzed statue of them outside the stadium is nice also.

  3. no not all the players on that list should recieve such an honor like that.  even being a cards fan i say maybe mize, schoendienst and i will give u pepper martin

  4. Thats one heck of a ball team you got listed there, I really believe that retiring their numbers is over-rated,alot of those guys have statues at Busch III. The Cardinals take care of their own.
