  1. If the contacts were in some way made to touch on that side they would.

  2. It depends on the vehicle. Most vehicles have two or three senors on the side of vehicle. if the crash was in a spot of the car that does not have the senor them the airbag would not have depolyed. and if the car has ever been in a crash prior to the one in question. All of thoes factors have to be answered do determin wheather the airbags malfunctioned. that information should be taken to the insureance company so you can get it fixed.

  3. Most likely no...................

Airbags deploy only when they might be needed to prevent serious injury.

Frontal driver and passenger airbags are designed to inflate in moderate to severe 'frontal crashes" equivalent to hitting a solid barrier at 10-12 mph.

Some manufacturers use different inflation thresholds depending on whether people are using their safety belts.

Thresholds of 10-12 mph typically are used for unbelted occupants, but thresholds are higher — about 16 mph — for belted occupants because the belts alone are likely to provide adequate protection up to these moderate speeds

  4. its on the driver side because its very safe when the person who is drive and itsaccident happen
