Question:

Should the formula for Strictly Come Dancing be reviewed?

This is a fabulous show that has done so much to bring ballroom and latin dancing into vogue.

Since the theme of the show is directed in large part to dancing excellence would it be better if there were fewer celebrities and more world-class dancing partnerships?

Or perhaps a separate show covering the World Dancing Championships?

  1. Sounds like a good idea, I've always been a novice ballroom dancer but my husband would not entertain the idea of coming with me till it was made trendy by Darren Gough et al - now he is better than me but the upside is that it is something we do together without the kids!! I'd love to see more on the tv but is it really mainstream enough, do people watch strictly cos of the dancing, the dresses or the celebs? There was supposed to be a show coming to our local theatre 'strictly ballroom'   but the whole tour was cancelled, was it due to the credit crunch or lack of interest, either way I'm a fan of it on the tv or on my toes!!

  2. They should pretty much only have the dancing that is the essence of the programme, the singers ruin the songs and the judges are just there to get their opinions in and create a pantomime audience which makes it all  kind of tacky. Bruce pervs on all the girls and shows off his dancing whenever he can.

    It should be, titles-dancing-credits.

  3. To many celebrity shows, going on, Lets get other people on picked at random, to learn dancing and then match them with world class dancers, because at the moment ITV. BBC. channel 4  are all in compotition with each other and makes viewing so boreing
