  1. not sacked but very stupid desicion maybe be disciplined but no way sacked but the lions still won anyway so i'm happy

  2. Sacked  is a bit hard but what I didn't understand is why the field umpires didn't over ride the decision but it was a shocker, lucky Brisbane didn't loose by a goal

  3. YER I REKON AYY!!! STUPID REFS!!!

  4. yeah that was a poster

he'll be in the country league next week

  5. lol.....the rule is that if the ball hits any umpire, it must be interpreted as an 'invisible force' or a 'heavy gust of wind' and its play on. But if it does cross the goal line, again, the 'invisible force' rule is played and it is a goal.....yes, seems silly doesnt it but thats what I have been told and its obviously right!

but i didnt see that inncident I did watch several parts of the game including the classic final quarter.

but I myself have goal umpired  in the past and have been hit...um...twice.

Once in the nuts (behind the goal line)...that hurt and a few weeks ago, I was goal umpiring, the ball went over the heads of the 2 players contesting the ball...the ball starts bouncing along the ground...im next to the goal post, the full foward soccers the kick, hits the ball in a bad spot in straight into my kidney!

he was lucky that the ball went through for the goal...but these things do happen....

edit:  RogueRage; so....umpires should be suspended for making one or 2 bad calls just like when players strike other players to the head? you cant get anymore further away from solving the problem. That would just put more pressure on umpires and natually, when there is more pressure, there will be more mistakes.

I wouldnt sack him for that. They dont go out there to be hit......but it happens, even to me!

  6. No, the goal umpire wasn't in the field of play he was on the goal line where he should be, he was in the right position, the bounce was just unlucky

  7. Have to say I didn't see it, however being sacked sounds a bit harsh, maybe suspended. What would happen if players were sacked when they made dumb decisions?? Big Baz would be sacked for his "boxing" yesterday.

    Up the BLUES!!!!

  8. I have said this before, umps should be penalised just as players are.

That umpire should be suspended for 2 weeks...

  9. i think they will drop him for a few weeks
