Question:

Should the lady's name go first on our signature wedding platter?

I'm hand painting a large coupe platter for my guests to sign (instead of a guestbook). I know in most situations, the husband's name is listed first (i.e. Joe & Kristin) - but in most things wedding, the bride's name is first (Jessica & Matthew).

It'll say our names and the wedding date. I don't really care, but I don't want to do it improperly.

  1. When it comes to Announcements and Invitations, the Bride's name USUALLY goes first, but whether or not the applies to this, I'm not sure. But why not just fall back on the alphabetical order of the names if you can't make up your mind. =D

  2. Absolutely the Bride's name goes first.

  3. The bride's name first

  4. Standard practice is, "Mr. George and Mrs. Martha Washington"

  5. the bride's name first  always kc

  6. I don't think people will freak out either way, the important thing is having a nice souvenir from everyone at your wedding. They should not be too offended by the order of the name.

  7. I don't think you can really do it improperly.  I think its something that's personal preference.

  8. YES, the bride's name goes first.

  9. Most remarks here are going to be sexist, and i wouldn't know.

    but i'll just say this..

Mr and Mrs smith. Mr and Mrs Getae. People say Mr first. I'm not saying it SHOULD be like that, but I'm just saying that some people do say that, so that should be looked out for.
