Should the person who found the apartment have a say in which room to get?

I found the apartment, so would it be fair if I got to choose my room? There are 3 other roommates and we are having difficulty coming to a conclusion on who gets which room. I think that I should have somewhat of a say.

If you can't solve this one amicably, you are all destined to failure as roomies. Don't even get started. I don't think you are entitled to special consideration because you found the apartment, though. What is more important is how you will live there together, how you will respect each other's privacy and how you will share the public spaces, if everyone will clean and keep tidy, and if you make house rules and live by them faithfully. If you don't get along now, when you are all supposed to be on your best behavior, it doesn't bode well.

If you hold the lease, you get to pick whatever room you want.  If all of you are on the lease, sorry dude, Draw straws to figure out who gets the contested room, or the others are going to hate your a** if you whine until you get your way.  Don't mope when you lose, because nobody would like that much either...Roommates are about harmony.

I would say its only fair to flip or draw for it, if it were entirely dependent on who "found" the apartment what would keep the other 2 guys from saying no to everything till you got the one "he wanted"

personally

run...don't have roomates, explore any other option

roomates will always be short on rent, they will always eat all your food, they will always be short on utiliities, they will run up your bills, they will bonk your girlfriend, they will take your car while you're sleeping

roomates are the worst possible route to go for living...

however much you think they will save you in expenses they will triple in debts.

You found it ; you get first choice of room.  Then you have to change rooms every 3 months so everyone gets the master bedroom.  /
