Should the punishments be stiffer for street racing?

what are your thoughts on a fitting punishment?

yes .. the punishments should be stiffer for street racers and I do believe that their cars should be crushed... in public view... but what happens if the vehicle is under finance, gets crushed and the owner decides not to repay. The finance company cannot repossess the car and the owner just has to declare bankruptcy.... so there needs to be something in place to prevent them from escaping payment of the car.

A PRIME EXAMPLE

Young lass in a 3 car race with 3 people in the car doing 110mph in 35 mph zone. hit traffic island airborne for 100 feet and the only thing that stopped them from crashing into a block of flats was a tree... THE OTHER 2 CARS ONLY GOT A FINE

It is always the do-gooders that pay the fines and the law breakers that make life harder for all and don't pay fines and need to be chased down

Yes, they should be. I have seen too many innocent people die due to racers just flying around at their own whim. I think they should be a lot stiffer. You? Thanks for asking!!!

Yes, they should have expensive fine for punishment for street racing.

In fact, it happened in NY a lot.

One teenager was killed in dangerous street curve, where illegal street drivers hit-and run them.

Stiff penalties rarely act as a deterrent. If they did, then Texas, which has capital punishment, would have fewer murders, instead of more murders.

Unfortunately, when most people are committing a crime, the last thing they are thinking of is getting caught and the sting of the penalty they will receive.

No. I think that anyone that says that the car should be crushed are S T U P I D ! ! ! If I want to run someone, I will. People do it all of the time. Its not like anyone can argue that it kills people, because people get killed for ALL KINDS OF THINGS, including just driving home from work. Dont give me that B.S. If people want to race, they are going to. Cops fasley accuse people of racing.. example.. I know some guys who got tickets for "racing" but they were IN THE SAME LANE, ONE BEHIND THE OTHER!!! If people like that are going to get tickets for racing, and have their vehicle crushed, thats BULL! I think that its enough as it is!

You think that people that race at the track, have no risk??? YES THEY HAVE A RISK. Its not like all kinds of people line up on the main road, and run, hitting all of the pedestrians! They go somewhere where no one is around, and line them up and go! They make sure that everyone is out of the way, and away from the roads, to keep that from happening. Yes, some of the people get crazy and wreck, but do people not do that when they are not racing??? YES THEY DO! Less people get in wrecks racin, than as everyday driving. You can call me stupid and say im wrong all you want, but I know that I am not. I know that Most if not all of the people that said yes to that question have NEVER been out when people have been street racing.

Yes when Innocent people are being killed they should be stiffer . If you want to race get on a track then the lives at stake are the drivers
