Should the "Ground ok" indicator light in my Monster Power Center HT850 lights up when the HT850 is on?

I believe once you hook it up to a power source the Ground Fault indicator should say that it is OK....unless it's not OK. In that case the ground prong on your outlet is not properly grounded. The power center will not function 100% correctly if it's not grounded. I believe the excess power from a surge or spike gets put to ground.
