  1. I think if athletes don't want to compete they should just say the air is too polluted and pull out, but why should countries get involved in deciding for athletes?  Carter screwed it up when he kept our athletes home, let's not repeat the performance.

  2. yes

  3. no

  4. It was a mistake to award the Olympic Games to n**i Germany, Communist Russia and Red China. Olympic Games should be awarded only to democracies. Red China does not deserve it and the world should either move it to an other location or boycott it.

  5. Yes, and then immediately run to the local Wal-Mart and shop for summer clothes, tv's, nintendo's, etc....  We'll uphold their economy while our falters, but at least we didn't show up in figure skating.

  6. No, its the Olympics and politics should be left behind during the Olympics. It's all about the sports.

  7. While I believe that China is wrong in many ways, I don't think that we should boycott the Olympics. The Olympic games give our athletes a chance to compete, and by prohibiting them from going, we would really be infringing on their rights as US citizens. However, I don't think that the President should attend the opening games.

  8. boycott china olympics? on what basis?

even dalai lama is agaist boycott.

if you hate chinese and still want a baseless boycott, that's your freedom.

but before you promote it, you should know the consequences. as a chinese, the more you westners against us, the more chinese will dislike you.  how many you think you represent the rest of th eworld?

  9. Definitely yes. China is not just oppressing Tibet but also East Turkestan.  There are more than 20 million muslim Uyghurs living in China and the world doest even hear about their struggle.

  10. Yes we should, if they can use the Olympics for political gain, then the world can do the same. China is not a free country as they try to portray it, they still kill and torture as they are doing in Tibet and no media is allowed to tell the truth to the world, Why. Let's stop the killing and the suffering of the Tibetans they deserve to be free from colonialism, we are living in a new century, china cannot continue doing the things from the last century. This is a new era, wake up china.

  11. should the rest of the world mind their own d**n business instead?yes.

like america for example.do you see china all whining about them being in iraq??????

  12. a boycott of the olympics is a very strong political move, and I am a firm believer of government hands off. But seeing the suffering the people in Tibet and the rest of the country go through, and how the top ten most polluted cities in the world all reside in China, for once I agree that we are right if we decide to boycott these games.

Given all this boycott talk, China has already agreed to force emission cuts during the months of the Olympics (although this wont do much for the overall pollution) it shows that they are getting the point.

Economically speaking however, a Chinese economy who basically holds the fate of our currency in there hands is not a good one to p**s off, so if we do decide a boycott we should do this very carefully
