Question:

Should the same person have about the same cover line on BBT chart (I use Ferterily Friend.com) every cycle?

Last month, my cover line is 97.6; this month so far it is 97.1. Thank you.

  1. Your coverline can definitely vary, but let me warn you - 97.1 is not a post-ovulation temperature.  Sometimes fertility friend will set up a coverline but it will not be correct.  Then when your temperature rises again at actual ovulation time, it will correct itself.  I have read a lot of charts as an NFP teacher and I have never seen ovulation where post-ovulation temperatures are only 97.1.  So I would say you haven't ovulated yet.  For most women the coverline will only vary by maybe .1-.3 degrees.


  2. No, your coverline will vary. It's not a scientific part of your chart; only supposed to give you a general guideline of what's above or below the level at which ovulation was identified. My chart can regularly vary by a few tenths of a degree every month.

  3. Not necessarily. Month to month changes in your life (stress, sleep etc) so having such a slight change is nothing to worry about =)
