Furthermore, is it really possible to be both individual and also regulated at the same time? Opinions please.

  1. I believe that it is impossible for an individual person to perfectly conform to any belief system, with the possible exception of a belief system which requires one to conform to it in a random or incoherent manner.

    I have been an atheist.

    I am currently a Christian.

I cannot remember any point in time in my life that I have been an individual person.

I am not sure it is possible to for me to not be an individual person.

  2. Both. Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Great Savior. We need to stay connected with Him like the vine and the branches, with Jesus pumping His Divine Live (zoe) into us. At the same time, we need fellowship with other Christians (koinania); we need to be taught by spiritual elders; we need Christian community.  Some organization and regulation is necessary in any human community. But we do not need control, domination and suppression that so many organization run by men have. Many religious organizations are over-controlled and dominated by men. That doesn't allow spiritual seekers to spiritually develop. Remember, if you are Christian, where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. In religion, there needs to be spiritual liberty.

  3. It depends what sort of spiritual journey you are talking about.

If you trust in the LORD God and His son Jesus then it starts with an individual relationship with God when you are baptised but your walk through life to the kingdom should be with like minded believers who can mutually support one another.

When we meet together to remember Jesus in bread and wine we do it knowing that Jesus said, Where two or three are gathered together in my name there am I in the midst of them.

  4. The Bible foretold that true Christians today would be united, brought together into one “land” as one “nation,” where they would be “shining as illuminators in the world.” (Isaiah 66:8; Philippians 2:15)

However, that is not the full extent of God’s organization. Angels are also involved.God’s visible organization is a community of faith, an association of fellow believers who build up and encourage one another.to be part of God’s organization—of which “the kingdom of the heavens” is the central part—one has to be doing God’s will.

What is his will? Paul identified a vital aspect of it when he said: “[God’s] will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”

  5. The journey is group related but I strive to make it individual.

  6. Individually or in pair bonds. Free as birds.

  7. What about the individual while on their journey being open to messages and to being gently guided. Some people do seem to need to be regulated, so I guess it depends on where that person is on their journey.

  8. "Individual" is an illusion.

Every moment is perfectly planned. When we can know of that we are the organization it is..

  9. Every individual should make his or her own choice and way. We only believe in something what we can choose freely.

  10. Individual, without a doubt.  How can something that is so personal to each and every person be organized and regulated?  We all have different things that makes us tick to to have it any other way just seems wrong.

  11. unity needn't be uniformity

  12. Good Q, have a star.

In my opinion a true spiritual journey is individual and is regulated by the individual.

It's only when you bring this pesky "religion" thing into it that you get enforced regulation from outside.

  13. That has to bo totaly up to the individual surely, some people feel spirituality sitting at the top of a mountain on there own and others when in a large group singing or chanting or praying. Each to there own I think!!!!

  14. It should be individual. When it becomes organized and regulated it is for selfish people with agendas to manipulate, brainwash, control, and extort. Religion was created by men to control you and get your money. God is not a religion, nor is He religious.
