    However, that being said, I agree with the second part of your statement.  If Bristol's mom doesn't have enough influence over her daughter's ability to cross her legs  (or at least use birth control) how effective will she be as Vice President?


  2. No, because the age of consent in Alaska is 16, and she's 17.

    And it's not hypocrisy at all -- Bristol Palin is not running for anything, last I checked.

  3. Alaska statutory rape laws declare that anyone who is 18 years old or older who has s*x with a person who is 16 or 17, or who is at least three years younger than the offender, can be charged with sexual abuse in the third degree. This is also a felony.

    Consensual s*x is not a defense in Alaska

    All that is required is a District Attorney (with enough guts to fight the Governor) to file the charges
