Should the training for British track and field athletes be carried out at a central location?

This method of training has worked incredibly well for the cycling team based at Manchester, so could the same idea work for athletics?

  1. Something obviously needs to be done. Maybe even split it up into the runners, throwers and jumpers and train these groups seperately. Possibly T+F combined is too big and individual's problems are being missed such as the technical aspects of T+F  i.e. baton dropping, bad tactics, leaving your mark to early, not being able to compete properly in multi-events etc. The ex-athletes seem to know the problems maybe they should be consulted more.
