  1. I agree with michael w. totally.

It is the what is called Israel today that should be given back to the Palestinians who are the rightful owners of much of those lands.

PS If it comes to a vote I will vote for michael w.

  2. A definate YES and while they are at it go back to the land they were so generously given by the UN in 1947,

  3. When the West Bank was under Jordanian control, the Palestinian Arabs revolted and were put down by the Jordanians. If they aren't fighting Jews, they'll be fighting other Arabs.

Anybody who says Israel's capturing of the West Bank causes terrorism doesn't understand history. The PLO was formed in 1964 to "liberate" Palestine from the so-called Zionist oppressors. Israel captured the West Bank in the 1967 mideast war. Yet Israel was contantly attacked by Arabs before 1967. So how is having the West Bank related to attacks on Israel? Israel was attacked when she didn't have control of the West Bank.

Israel was also continuously attacked by Arabs from Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon throughout its early history. The Israelis would be stupid to give the land back, the Arabs would just start attacking them again.

Only part of the coastal area was in the original partition for Israel. Israel captured the rest of the coastal area when the Arabs attacked Israel and tried to destroy her.

  4. Egypt and Jordan long ago made it clear they weren't interested in the West Bank and Gaza, they are Israel's problem, not their's. So that won't work. Syria and Israel are negotiating over the Golan Heights, but it has no bearing on the Palestinian issue.

Israel got the best stuff in 1948 because they had a massive military  advantage (despite the endless propaganda to the contrary) and were able to seize what they wanted and ethnically cleanse it. It's not a "partition" when one party not only slices the pie, they get to pick which piece they want.

The conflict will end (like so many similar "unsolvable" conflicts) when both parties are willing to sit down and end it. To this date Israel won't even recognize the Palestinian's elected leadership, let alone negotiate with them, so I wouldn't hold my breath,

  5. I feel that the word 'given' is inappropriate.

The West Bank and The Syrian Heights are stolen property and should be returned to their owners together with appropriate compensation.

Gaza, although mandated to become independent in 1948 would probably fare better as part of Egypt.
