all he is good for is grounding into double plays and striking out this year and he is way overpaid. i would trade him for someone like hanley ramirez or ryan braun and maybe a decent pitcher.

  1. Yea right i'm sure every teams ready to pick up his $27 million dollar salary...The Yankees chose to sign him to that insane contract and now their stuck with him.

  2. I wouldn't trade Arod listen Robison Cano made an error during yesterday's game are you gonna say to trade him to. Derek Jeter struck out should we trade him to? He's in a slump but he doesn't make up the entire time. There's more then 1 player on the Yankees so it's everyone's responsbility to do their job.

  3. he missed 30 games and he still has 28hr u couldnt have hit the ball anhy harder

  4. Here's the thing.

The Yankees signed him to a 10 year, $275 million dollar contract?  What team in their right mind would trade for a player like that.

Why would the Marlins or the Brewers trade relatively cheap players (at the moment, until salary arbitration happens) for someone who's not cheap.

Plus, as fans of 29 teams already know, while the Yankees have Arod, they aren't winning the world series, so, most of us are happy if he stays on the Yanks.

  5. That wont happen. The Steinbrenners would have to sell the Yankees and void all contracts before that could become a reality.

But I have to say that while he is a great player, according to all the numbers he puts up, I swear to the gods of baseball that whenever I see a televised game of the Yankees, A-Rod screws up. Its uncanny.

  6. oh come on...he had one off day. he's been consistently hitting around .310 for the entire season and he has 28 home runs.

but I do agree that he doesn't belong with the Yankees. he would be better suited as a Ranger or an Indian.

  7. the yankees should trade him to the dodger they love paying high price player who couldn't product. Oh way they only want somebody who they don't have to pay a penny this year.

  8. In terms of baseball karma, absolutely not. The Yankee$ and A-Rod deserve each other like no others. The Yankee$ spend too much, and A-Rod is too greedy. As a Yankee$ hater, I hope they stay together and he never makes another clutch hit for the rest of his contract.

I don't know what the Yankee$ should do, but I'm certain it would be best for A-Rod the person to leave New York any way he can. It was a huge mistake for him to go to the Yankee$, setting monstrous expectations for the most whiny, spoiled fans in the nation and the worst team management to work for. He should give up on being the richest player in baseball and go somewhere he'll be appreciated and won't be blamed for not leading his team to a championship every year. Seattle or a mid-market NL team seem the best options to me.

  9. Are you serious?

  10. Thats all he is good for? A player who has hit a huge amount of HR and drove in many Ribbies each season. Only due to his stint on the DL earlier this season, and his sad, unreliable teammates, are his numbers lower than usual. Their offense has been much too inconsistent all season, and for part looks as if they just woke up. Forget that their pitching is awful, except for Mussina, their offense has been stale, and due to this, will have their consecutive playoff appearances end.

  11. No one would take on that contract. The Yankees are stupid for giving him that big of of contract.

The Brewers are not going to trade Ryan Braun period.

  12. For what you are saying, all baseball players go through a slump at one time or another. Just because Alex Rodriguez is A-Rod and because he is in New York, it is magnified 100x. Now on if they should trade him, it would have to depend on what the future plans are for the Yankees: If they want to go to the playoffs in 2009 then they shouldn't trade him. If they want to go young and get some good prospects then they should trade him.

  13. I think you need to look at A-Rod's stats and stop listening to what Yankees "fans" and the media are saying. He's a huge reason the Yankees have made it to the post-season the past few years. Very soon he will be the best player in the history of the game.

There is no good reason for trading him.

  14. no. Did you see Delgado in his slump and now he is really coming through for the mets.

  15. There is no team that will ever pick up his contract. The Yankees are stuck with him. He's definitely over paid. I'm a Red Sox fan and I enjoy seeing Arod playing terribly, but even I can admit he is one of the greatest hitters in the game today.

However, he consistently plays terrible baseball in September and October when it really matter.

  16. The yankees should not trade Arod and couldn't even trade him if they wanted to.  Arod may not be having the greatest season but he does have 28 home runs and is still the best player in baseball.  He will also eventually break the HR record and when this occurs the yankees will hold the greatest baseball player ever.  Even if the Yankees wanted to trade him no other team in the mlb can afford a 300 million dollar contract.
