I wish there was a DH in the NL because more offense and most likely your pitcher wont get injured. Also when pitchers hit the ball they do not try to run.

  1. well no cuz the whole point of the DH in the AL is to make up for the pitcher not batting. most of the time DH's arent even fast or anything too special so just keep it with the AL

  2. no...it is tradition just like adding instant replay would ruin the game...there are many pitchers who can hit homeruns...i am a pitcher and i can hit doubles...so if i go pro i wouldnt be able to bat...:(...dont listen to hank steinbrenner...

  3. I think so! it would really be a lot better because with the pitcher you really lose an at bat, and wear out your bench later in games when somebody always has to bat for the relief pitcher.

  4. ABSOLUTELY NOT, there should be no DH in the AL either.  It takes away from the game's managers in the AL.  there is no strategy, no double switches and no sacrifices bunts.  All of those things are part of the game and are a lost art in the AL.  whats sad is when the AL adopted the DH the NL came one vote short of adopting it as well(I think it was the reds or orioled GM that voted no) if that would have happened it would have been a tragedy

  5. Both leagues have their own style of play, and I can appreciate both. If there was a DH in the NL, then there wouldn't be as much aggression on running the basepaths, and usually power hitters aren't the best defensivly either. It's an entirely differant game. And I like watching Zambrano hit.

  6. never it wouldbe stupid and ruin the whole point of baseball

play your position and hit got to do bothe to be a real player

DH aren't real players there bench player it was just a stupid money making plot

  7. No in either league.  They should get rid of it in the AL.  Let the pitcher hit.  Just because he is a bad hitter doesn't mean he shouldn't hit.  Some pitchers like Carlos Zambrano can actually hit.  The DH shouldn't be in baseball.  You might as well add the Designated Fielder.  If your first baseman can hit but can't field should he only hit and not play the field.  There is more strategy involved if the pitcher hits (double switch, sacrifice, bat pitcher 8th, walk the 8th hitter to get to the pitcher, etc. )

  8. I think their should be no DH in either leagues!

I think the pitchers should get a chance to hit!

If I had to choose... no I don't think their should be because when the AL is playing the NL in a NL Stadium the NL Pitcher should get a chance to hit!

The AL Pitchers rarely get to hit!  They Should get a chance to!

    Great Question!

  9. There should not be a DH in either of the leagues

  10. No, maybe they should just teach their pitchers to hit.

CC Sabathia actually looks forward to hitting.

  11. i agree

  12. It's real baseball without the DH.

  13. I like it how it is. It is one thing that distinguishes the NL from the AL. There are some pitchers in the NL that can hit and help their own cause. To me a good game is more than just how many runs are scored.

  14. NO! Leave it the way it is. Its not the NL pitchers that get hurt running the bases, that happens more during interleague play.

  15. yea

  16. The DH is so stupid

you don't need any other talent other than swinging a bat

  17. There shouldn't be a DH anywhere.

  18. more like there should be no dh in the al

  19. yes, mainly because pitchers are valuable and if they get hurt they team starts to struggle. since the pitcher doesn't bat in the AL he runs less risk of getting hurt. the NL needs to step and get a DH.

  20. NO!  The AL should make pitchers bat b/c when it comes down to the post season  they have a disadvantage b/c they haven't batted all year.

  21. I think both leagues should have a DH because the American League usually puts up more runs then the National League. Or you could just get rid or the DH and watch the picture struggle at hitting.!

  22. i think its perect this way.

  23. I don't think they should have a DH in either league. I think it prolongs the careers of players that are no longer in good enough shape to play the game at the level it should be played at, and it just serves to pad their stats.

  24. yeah it would be better, except the transition would be kinda hard because most DH's are power hitters and where are all the power hitters gonna come from? Maybe they would just use their utilitly players...

But the DH would very much increase runs and would make games more exciting....its just players like Carlos Zambrano and CC Sabathia would be pissed
