Since the female gender is now empoered i suppose with power comes responsibilties and really the perception that they are vulnerable, delecate creatures is a thing of the past.

Shouldnt they equally spill their guts keeping in mind that majority in armed forces are emn who are derided as a bad gender.

  1. No equality is if it is to her BENEFIT, thats why you never hear of women fighting for equality in construction or women working the sewers.

  2. In my opinion, nobody should be sent to war.

  3. Yes.

I don't see Pvt Jessica Lynch for one as a "vulnerable, delecate, creature"

So yes if their were to be a draft, draft women too.  If some of the women that are drafted really are "delecate" then they will be 4F just like the men who are too "delecate".

  4. No because that would be discrimination, you can't conscript people into the army on any basis because that would mean you had some criteria for selection and the PC brigade would not allow it and it would be all over the papers by tomorrow, so there.

  5. I agree with you, since us women now have equal rights to men, i believe that it is sexist to not give a draft to woman as well.

But, if women really want to protect the country, they have complete and total rights to go sign up for the army.

    not saying that i would...

  6. Well. I don't believe there should be a draft, anyway. If a war is truly just citizens will flock to it's nations banners (such as in WWII, or after 9/11) rather than having to be forced.

That said, it's ridiculous that one group of people should be conscripted and not the other. I'm expected to register with the draft in order to go to college or to vote. Women get these privileges automatically.

This is why I can't understand why feminists feel like I'm socially privileged to be male. I do not have access to scholarships and loans that are for women (and there are a lot of them). I can't vote or go to college without signing up for the draft, wherein I can be sent off to die because I'm male and therefore expendable. If I were to be raped there are no programs put into place for me. If I were ever in a custody dispute they favor the mother, divorce proceedings give half the husband's assets to the wife, men can be prosecuted on the accusation of domestic violence.

This is just what exists on the lawbooks, not even inequality in social practice. There are laws put in place to discriminate against men, and nothing in place to benefit them (and no, there shouldn't be either), so why on earth would I feel privileged?

  7. If people had to be drafted into the armed forces then I think the first to be drafted should be the fittest of the law abiding volunteers, whether they are male or female. Gender isn't really an issue but I do think that men are more likely to be drafted in based on fitness, that is a fact based on gender difference; men are stronger and faster. Women are only allowed to work onboard submarines in certain countries so that would mean fewer women would be drafted.

In the UK at least, there is already a process in place if we need people to be taken out of civilian life and straight into the armed forces, from Royal Navy reserves to the territorial army to ex-personnel. Those three areas include men and women. In the rare case that more people are needed, people over the age of 15 and 9 months with wishes of joining the armed forces will be allowed to join, this applies to both males and females. There just happens to be far more males that wish to join the armed forces and men are allowed in all areas, whereas women, due to medical conditions that are more likely to affect women, can only enter around 99% of vacancies.

  8. I don't know what country you live in, but in the UK the ridiculous and terrible idea of people being called up ended in world war 2. I'm amazed that this practice would still be going on?

But this question is a typical double standard, in teh same vane as the 'it's not fair we can't hit girls' one.

Yes, men and women are equal but that doesn't mean the things that are wrong with the world should be done to both. You should be more concerned with the fact that innocent people would be called up to a war that they don't believ in and aren't equipped to do. Doesn't that bother you? It's the same as the hitting thing, instead of being jealous that men can't hit women how about thinking 'In our civilised society it's wrong to hit anyone'.

Typical of misogynists, they only want equality when it harms someone else.

EDIt: If women gave up traditional roles why shouldn't they be put in trenches? Oh dear, I thought you were just a sexcist but you are in fact a mad psychopath.

  9. If a person have the right to vote, it should have the duty of defending their country. Plain an simple.

Don't want to defend your country, then don't vote.
