  1. I am an agnostic believer so where would that leave me.?

No, there should not be an atheist/agnostic section, however, religion should be included in the mythology section.

  2. there is, and we are all in it

    i never ridicule any believer

maybe you shouldnt generalise all atheists and agnostics

it doesnt make you seem very reasonable, nice or knowledgable

  3. I don't think so. I like them (the nice, tolerant atheist/agnostics). They bring in their own unique perspective. However, the rude ones can go..it won't break my heart.

  4. No.

It would just become an evangelist magnet.

  5. I would love that.  But the reporters love the banter.  Thy sit like Gods over the answers.

  6. Yes, but only if they/we stop simply attacking positions of belief with the simple dismissal of being idiots for believing in an invisible friend in the sky.

There's more to faith, and much more to rational arguments.

  7. Well lets think about that for a moment.

If they are only here to ridicule believers then I doubt they would go to a forum where there are no believers to ridicule believers.  Maybe for a while but it would get boring fast.

The Christian view should be that this ridicule is an opportunity to make the case for Christianity.

And learn to forgive the mockers.

For me it is personal because I used to be one of the mockers.  So I never criticize them or get upset with them. And I know I am no better than they are.

When I see their teasing remarks, insults, and their cynicism I cannot help but think that...

There, but for the grace of God, go I.

  8. What would be the point of that? It would be dead, there would be nothing to talk about. Anyway, if there were no Atheists on R&S, then instead of Atheists bickering with Christians/Muslims. The Protestants, Catholics and Muslims would all argue between themselves.

  9. NO there should be a my little pony - hello kitty island adventure section for religious freaks

  10. Nah. Boring.

  11. YES!  But they wouldn't know what and how to converse in their own section.  Atheist/Agnostics are like a dog with a bone.  The dogs won't let anyone get his bone and if he doesn't want it, he'll go and bury the bone so no one can have it.

Atheist/Agnostics want to be with the Christians and others because they truly want to know God and Jesus Christ.

    They just don't admit it.

    GOD BLESS YOU

  12. "Amen"

  13. Creole,Yes, thank you dear. As a true believer it bothers me to see their garbage, knowing that nothing I do or say will help them in any way !!!

  14. If there were, the atheist, would end up coming back here, because the only thing worth doing on y!a in their mind is debating creationists.

  15. No...we'd still ridicule you and there would be more Christians there than there would be here.  Just like there are a ton of Christians in the LBGT section.  Go look.

Maybe you'd do a little better in a closed forum.  You don't seem to be able to take challenges to your ideas.

  16. Such a section already exists.  It is called "Religion & Spirituality".  It is for everyone who has views and/or questions about the subject.  All are welcome.

  17. GLBT- they're over there and fundies come there all the time to tell them to repent. I doubt you guys wouldn't just follow us to atheists/agnostics but if you can get y?aR/S to make the section I still won't bother b/c I come here to defend my world from Christianity and Islam. You'll notice that no atheist bashes the Amish and that's the key to your riddle.

  18.   If you are allowing these people to bother you, You do not know the true God.. A path to the real God should always be left open (Especially to the so called non-believers) It would be very helpful for you to learn God's truth as well..God bless

  19. No, but we should have a gag button so that we can silence believers who insist that atheists are worthless, evil, pieces of c**p.

  20. Your question is posed in a way that makes it sound like you want to put up a big "keep out" sign to the atheists. If you're confident in your beliefs, then you should be able to hold up to ridicule. However, that said, I do think it's wrong to ridicule people. I'm the author of a book about my atheism, and although I lay out my ideas, I try not to offend people. And I certainly don't come online and say nasty things to people just because they have different beliefs from me.

So my answer in that regard is no, I don't think there should be a separate section if that's your reason. However, on the other hand I would argue that it would certainly be nice to have a category where people could post questions specifically pertaining to atheism.

  21. Religion is something you believe in right? Wouldn't atheist be a religion then? After all atheist is someone who believes in nothing. I think it's more interesting with Atheist in the Religion section, what would you actually ask under atheist?

  22. If there was you know that I lot of Christians would frequent it, so stop your complaining.

Well not you exactly, I meant the Christians.

  23. It wouldn't solve anything.

We would possibly leave this section, and they would soooo know to attack that one.

  24. Absolutely, it would wipe out the morons in one swift stroke.

But then, they do present a challenge, and I quite like a challenge.

Besides, they are entitled to there opinions, if they wish to ridicule let them, it just shows a poor lack of intellect and respect for other peoples views.

You should pray for them, that's what the poor things did, don't you?

  25. but without a common enemy, the believers would kill each other over differences of interpertation of scripture...  we help save lives!

  26. I wish!

I would not visit ... I would not, Sam I am!

I would not fear if they crossed over, I would not, I would not!

They do not bother me, persay,

They bother ones who are challenged beyond reply.

I can handle them, I say,

I feel for them, Yes, I, yes, I

  27. Atheism is the strongest Religion. It takes the MOST faith.

  28. No, Christians need Atheists/Agnostics as  a catalyst to react against.

  29. Oh waaah. Besides, I'm a believer, I just don't believe like you do. The origins of my religion predates yours by thousands of years.  You're just another self-righteous loser who doesn't want to hear bad things about your precious little god and bible because in your heart you know it's all a load of bullshlt.

  30. You are lumping two rather different things together. An agnostic IS an unbeliever while an atheist is a DISBELIEVER.

One exhibits no opinion or belief while the other is CONVINCED that "God" is FALSE.

... Check disbelief and unbelief in a dictionary.

  31. Naah. Gimmee the Pulpit of Open Opinion. I'm a UU and I like variety. For those who can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen, go sit on the sofa and watch some mind-numbing reality show.

An Atheist doesn't necessarily "un-believe". That's a common misconception that a lot of "religious" people make. Some Atheists clearly insist that there's "nothing" and others just don't choose to bow to whatever Creator they perceive, assuming that such Creator has no desperate need for human approval. Some Atheists are "secular humanists" who believe that humankind is ultimately responsible for its own outcomes, and furtherance of development (and peace) is critical for our survival as a species.

An "Agnostic" (from the Greek, to "not know") simply has not come to any conclusion, or feels that there is no point of arguing the notion because there is no way to prove or dis-prove either position.

Both Atheists and Agnostics can be strongly faithful. My first Minister was a Atheist-secular-humanist and my mom is an Agnostic. Both are strongly spiritual people, and both have religious backgrounds, so they have heard all of the "Christian" legends and not been entirely convinced of anything.

I must however, agree that there is no point in anyone "ridiculing" anyone else. Typically in human socializing patterns, it seems that those who consider themselves in the "majority" do tend to treat the perceived "minority" with annoying (and some times dangerous) condecension. Personally I try to avoid that, but I border on it with irony and sarcasm and humor from time to time.

The God I percieve HAS to have a sense of humor. Look at the Duck Bill Platypus. It is an animal made from spare parts.
