Asked this a while back, time to ask again.

There is now laws for this in the U.K. that all such services must have disclaimers.

Should the U.S. create such a laws?

  1. I agree, for entertainment purposes only.................

Too many people are naive and are willing to let others make decisions for them........this could be dangerous in some ways....people need to learn to make their own decisions and take responsibility for themselves........it is all too easy to put the blame off on .....'but my psychic said....' and so on.

It would be nice to educate people on divination........but it is still just a tool.......!!!!!!!!! Anything could be easily misinterpreted by the medium or the questioner.....!!!!!!!

(assuming they really are mediums and not scam artists!)

  2. I agree with you, but with the way the US system works, it would be difficult to follow through effectively on every complaint. Also, many of the psychics online are not even physically located in the US or the UK.

I'm trying to understand why you asked this on the horoscope forum rather than the "law and ethics" forum. Do you consider horoscopes, astrology and psychics to be one category?

  3. Hello

The UK law is a very old law, just been revised!so nothing new.

It simply means that we, psychics have to state that we are for 'entertainment only' which is Spiritual Intolerance, but there you go, it is an admittance that we exist at least, but based on a Christian society. I recently argued this with a newspaper & got it removed from an article about myself.

What ever you do in life you will meet frauds, from psychics to mechanics. It is down to the individual to take responsibility for themselves as you cannot be protected from what you do not wish to see.

  4. Yes, there should be laws to protect consumers of any service from fraud.

For astrology, I believe all astrologers have a responsibility to expose any astrological frauds that they discover. They are giving others a bad name.

For spiritual services, I think there may be a little problem, because how can someone who is doing spiritual healing say they are doing it for "entertainment"? Maybe they need to register as a religion in order to escape spiritual persecution.
