  1. I think if they wanna keep badminton they should add other lawn games like horseshoes and beanbag toss...

Of course golf should be and Olympic sport. It's more international then a lot of the games that are played already.

  2. Every athlete wants an Olympic medal and Golf is a sport played in every country, the top levels of which can be achieved by prince or pauper.

I think it would be fantastic, fair and a huge spectator drawcard!

    I say yes

  3. I would say it would be a great addition to Olympics since golf is very popular recreational sports in the world.

However, building the golf course and maintaining it will be costly and will take large area. Hosts probably don't want that, unlike pingping, just requiring board and balls.

    Just my guess.

  4. I think that would be a very nice addition to the Olympics.

  5. Sure. Why not? Its better than the glorified billiard game known as ping-pong.. err table tennis.

  6. I am highly against this.  There has been possibilities of putting golf in for softball and baseball in the 2012 Olympics in London and I am so against it!!!  The Olympics are about sports and I don't consider golf a sport.  A sport should take athleticism.

Anyone who does it at a high level should be fit and actually have to do something.  Not just swing a golf club.  Sure on the first hit  it takes strength to get the ball to go far, but that's it.  After that it's pure skill.  Every sport includes skill as well, but you also need to do something.  The pro golfers don't even walk to their next hole, they catch a ride on a cart.

I'm not saying that Tiger Woods is lazy and has no muscle, it's just that to be good at it, it takes like 97% skill and 3% athleticism.  Yeah, there are other so-called sports in the Olympics that shouldn't be, like curling and ping-pong (table tennis).  But adding golf wouldn't be smart.

  7. I don't see why not, at least it is a genuine sport, unlike some of the "pastime" sports already included, and if purpose built courses are laid to host the matches, they can be made available to the public once the games are over.

  8. nah.. theres not too much action to it... it will be boring .. in fact it is boring lol

  9. I don't think they should, but they might. I personally hope that they make martial arts and skateboarding part of the olympics, but that's just me. Roller skating (like the kind of stuff they did in roll bounce) and double dutch should be in the olympics too because they'd be pretty cool to watch.

  10. maybe eventually.  they already picked climbing and cricket to replace softball and baseball.... but golf was on a short list, so maybe in a few years..

  11. no, but they should make darts a olympic sport!
