Think about it. The Astros are only the second team in History to reach the playoffs after falling 15 games below .500 by June 1st. The first was the 1914 Boston Braves.

  1. No. However, they need to make a movie about Josh Hamilton.

  2. I laughed out loud when I read your headline, I thought it was a joke (but I guess not).

Movies are made to make money, whether it's a TV movie or a theatrical or a straight to DVD film. There's absolutely nothing about the 2005 Astros that the general public would care about to pay money to watch. For a studio to go to all the trouble to produce a movie, and trust me, it's very costly, it has to be a great story and there is not great story with the 2005 Astros.

  3. sure y not

  4. and the cardinals tied the worst record to go into the world series, and broke the record for the worst record to win.  Nobody picked them to win, but they won 4 out of 5, losing only to an obvious cheater.

  5. I don't know. If they did it would probably come out in like 15 years because most movies like that are at least made ten years after they happen, but they didn't win the world series so I would say no.

  6. No one's ever made a movie about the 1914 Braves (although it would make a better story than the Astros movie, for various reasons)

They've never even made a movie about the '69 Mets.

The 1914 Braves were in last place (8 team league) on July 18th, eleven games out of first.  Their record at that time was 35-43.

They won the NL pennant by 10 and 1/2 games, going 60-16 for the rest of the season.  And in the World Series, they defeated Connie Mack's Philadelphia A's in a four game sweep, after the A's had won the World Series in 1910, 1911 and 1913.

That Braves team was a combination of young, unproven players and rookies, together with veterans that no one else wanted.

You're right about the fact that the heroes don't have to win in the end for it to be a good movie.  The original "Bad News Bears" was a good movie, even though they didn't win it all.

  7. sry to tell u but even tho the games were  close they did get swept im just saying...

  8. Who?

  9. They have sports movies and dvd already. Yes a good movie would hit it off. I think they should make one they are a great team

  10. Sure - Why not see the White Sox win it all again!
