  1. If a teacher has tenure he/she can do anything they want to aside from hooking up or harming a student without fear of getting fired.

  2. Isn't public humiliation a form of child abuse?  Especially from someone in a position of trust, like a teacher? If you are still in the school and can talk to this teacher, go and tell him exactly how it made you feel.  Maybe he has learned the error of his ways and will apolgize to you.  Then again, maybe he's just an a$$hole, they're everywhere these days kid, got to get a thicker skin....

  3. He has to be that was mean and inconsiderent he should at least get in trouble i don't know anything about getting fired

  4. Unfortunately it's hard to fire a bully teacher. They know from experience just how far to go in bullying students before crossing the line. At worst, he may have been told not to do it again. As demeaning as it was and as horrible as it made you feel you have to try to forget it. When people act like that you have to consider the source. You are a much better person than he'll ever be because you actually have a conscience and it hurt you. He, on the other hand, has no conscience if he can treat people like that and sleep at night. Try to remember that people are always going to be evil in life and you have to learn to have enough confidence in who you are. A handwriting by no means defines the person. He had no right but unfortunately we can't control the hideous and insensitive acts of others. take care

  5. He won't be fired.

That's nothing compared to what i've heard some teachers do.

  6. Fired, no.  Reprimanded, yes.  What he did was unprofessional but not grounds to fire a teacher.  Yes, it made you mad, but it has been 2 years, get over it.  And work on your handwriting.

  7. Well.. he shouldn't be fired now because it's been 2 years lol.

But even if it was during the time I don't think he should be fired. If you were really unhappy with him you could've spoken to a teacher you're more close with about it. Who then could've spoken to him about it and make him feel ashamed.

That and tell everyone what he did so all the kids hate him.

  8. You know why people become teachers?  Because they have no skills or talents.

Teachers are, as a whole, frustrated people who wouldn't survive in the working world.  They produce nothing and contribute nothing and couldn't handle a real job.  They are merely guardians of the status quo and wear it like a badge of honor.

The reason the teacher did that is because he has a lot of pent-up anger and frustration and has no other way to express it other than to tear down people who can't fully defend themselves yet.

Should he be fired?  Maybe or maybe not, but he definitely should be kicked in the nuts for being an ***.  But don't let that tiny person get to you; just live your life in the way you want and forget him.

  9. He definitely should not be fired.  Was it a bad choice on his part?  Absolutely!!  That is something that you probably should have said to him right after class that day that you didn't appreciate.  That's not something that would get a teacher fired, somebody might have a word with him, but there would be no reason to fire a teacher unless he does that every day to specific students and belittles them constantly.

  10. No, he shouldn't be fired.  He should be reprimanded, but not fired.

Since it was 2 years ago, honestly, nothing is likely to happen.  In order for a teacher to get reprimanded you need to bring it up to their authorities shortly after it happened.

My 6th grade teacher physically knocked me down and called me an idiot in front of the class...my mom spent two hours ripping out the teacher, the principal, and the guidance counselor, and my dad was a teacher and union rep who bargained the teacher contracts for the district.  Guess what?  She got reprimanded.  I'm in my mid-30's now with a son in 6th grade, and as far as I know, she's still teaching there.

No, he won't get fired, sorry.  When an adult is fired it's because they step so far over the line that it can't be forgiven, so to speak; that would be like attempting to molest you or offering you drugs.  However, if something like this ever happens again, have your parents handle it immediately.

  11. OH, I am so sorry he did that to you. We all make mistakes, I really made a bad mistake like that with a student once, she and I just totally clashed. I pray at night (seriously) that she will not be emotionally harmed by it. Hopefully she just thinks I am a bad teacher and leave it at that, I hope she doesn't have bad thoughts about it now.

Obviously this had an effect on you if you are thinking of it 2 years later. You must try to let this go. That was wrong what he did. He should not have publically humiliated you like that and I am so sorry it happened. If you had reported it then, he would not have been fired but definitely reprimanded. Now, maybe you could go visit him some day and POLITELY tell him how it hurt you. Chances are, he felt bad about it and probably may think of it himself from time to time and wish he didn't do it. I know I do with my incident. If he doesn't, then it's his problem and he probably should find a different career field.

Please try to remember we are human and though we try to hold to a higher standard as educators, we do still make mistakes. I wish you emotional healing from this. Chin up, you sound like a great person. :)

  12. Maybe not fired, but he definitely should be talked to about it. How old are you? Because you could say something to him yourself. If not embarrass him :D I so would.
