the house we are getting is a Foreclosure, it is a really beautiful house nothing needs to be done at all, except the bank is going to replace the a/c outside before the closing which was part of the deal and we signed on the contract and everything. Last friday we gave the deposit check to the realtor and he was going to send it to the title company but anyways, my husband has been calling the realtor for about 2 days now and he has yet to respond to my husband, now should i be worried? or is this normal, my husband thinks it's because since he sold the house to us thats it, he's really not going to answer our calls. i honestly think that this guy is straight up honest and a good person, so i don't want to think anything negative of him without knowing whats going on first. so can someone just help me not worry! the closing is set for the 18th of this month or before which is written in the contract, should i be at all worried? i could be anxious to get into teh house already. so maybe i just want this process to go by quicker

  1. Call him again and tell him you are very concerned about not hearing from you.  If he doesn't return you call for another day- then call the office and ask for his boss.

I bet you will get a phone call fast.

  2. Regardless your agent should return your calls if it's a legitimate call if you are calling for something trivial then I'm sure he's not going to "rush" to call you back.  If it's important and it will affect the closing or the paperwork etc then you need to contact his broker and speak to him.  Remember, your agent doesn't get paid until the house closes, so it's in his best interest to make sure the closing goes smoothly.

  3. did you hire a real estate lawyer?  if not, you could get screwed.  i suggest you go down to the office and confront the Realtor personally.

  4. Who was the check made out to?

If it was made out to the Realtor - that is wrong.

Call the realtor, and tell him to call you, or you will cancel the deal.  If you have been calling this person excessively - they may not want to speak to you.

The Realtor is probably like a lot of sales people ---has a deal in hand, a date to get paid - you can only provide work - which he does not want.

  5. Don't worry.

If you signed the contract, it's binding.  How long it takes to cash the deposit check is not relevant.

  6. If you haven't heard from him, call his office and ask to speak with the managing broker.  Tell them what's going on and I'm sure you'll have him calling you back soon.
