Question:

Should those in the Israel Travel Section be given a pre-exam to determine if they've studied History properly

Either people participating in the Israel Section do NOT know History or are posting fallacious remarks--which is it? Y-A is supposed to be based on facts!

  1. I'm afraid the government would get involved and you know what their entry level exams is.  If you can read and write you can't work here.

They should start a new site  like Israeli- Palestinian relations, where all us Americans could come and fight over someone else's business, but this is all we have.

If we all had good sense we would probably be some where's else.

This is where I come to have fun in argument and by belittling people to bolster my own self worth.  Just as the majority.  I live in a democracy.  The majority rules.

All the questions have been asked and answered many times here just as the peace negotiations have all been done and written down for years.  Yet we still meet to go over them again just like our leaders.  Are we any better or worse?

Israel and I grew up together.  She's one and a half years older than me.  I know my history too.  Yet I admit I don't have any right answers about the mess she is in.  I only know I will argue, debate or fight to support her.  I have already receive the promised blessing.

  2. Facts are very often distorted by people who see only what they want to see.

  3. Yes,but most would flunk on both sides. I have realized most never research history, they just blindly believe the BS they are taught. Something to remember about history is the victors are the ones that write it,it don't make it the truth though.  This is travel though, not history. What other facts would you like? Remember what you think are the facts usually are not,you have to keep an open mind.

  4. I thing that would be a great idea an as a former student of Israeli history and a current history teacher I would volunteer my services.  Sadly I know Yahoo doesn't go for such things.

    Good Luck!!!

  5. No. Better yet an IQ test.

  6. I don't think so, but I do think that the questions and answers here should be related to travel, and not politics (that's a different section, mind you).

I think both askers and answerers should put political conflicts aside when posting here.

  7. Lemon,

There is no reliable source for history.

People of ancient civilizations wrote history they way they wanted it to be not the way it happened.period

Our history discussions here are more political than any thing else. Everyone is defending his view

  8. Yes, that would be nice!  it would hold to nice intellectual Q&A (my favorite.)  It would really weed out these repetitive and ignorant questions and lame answers.

Y!A already has set of rules, if they were practiced and enforced that would also be good too.

  9. I think there is a big demand for Middle East Politics, or Israeli politics sections.

The original design was travel, but Israeli-haters are more willing to discuss Israeli politics.

As far as History test goes, well, anyone can post anything they want to, Yahoo is a free speech section.

Even Pals Supporters should have a freedom to misinterpret facts both intentionally and unintentionally - or so the history of this forum shows.

  10. No, I am too old for any exam myself, but let's agree on one thing:

The Palestinians were in Palestine long before the jews showed their faces on that land.

That piece of info is written all over some Greek philosopher's book, thousands of years before the jews decided to split Egypt and hit the street to middle East.

You don't have to trust my words girl,  just you go rite ahead and read it, but hey,  I think it's one of them books the jews enjoy setting on fire, right?

    SSteel.
