  1. No  Never  Do you really want to go back to the time of the n***s ?

  2. Torture? Wasted police time? Do you know what you are saying, or this just a wind-up?

  3. I,d be over the moon if one of my kids disappeared for two days and then came home minus a few finger nails and with burnt genitals.

  4. No, because some sadists would wish to bring back the thumb screws, the iron maiden, the rack and all of the other macabre equipment from the old torture chambers.

  5. there is no excuse for torture

  6. People would sink to the depths of depravity if there weren't laws and standards in society. a society that loses these might be not worth fighting for.

  7. No way,i'd admit to being Hitlers right hand (wo)man if i was being tortured and i wasn't even born then.

  8. No.. torturing answers from people does not guarantee veracity. Besides which it's unethical, immoral and illegal (for good reason).

  9. I suppose I could just ask them politely but where's the fun in that.

  10. You're joking, right? Torture doesn't make people tell the truth, but it will eventually make people tell you what they think you want to hear. So torture would result in far more wasted police time, not less. It's also good at making people "confess," because if you torture someone long enough they will confess to anything you want. I guess that would save a lot of police and court costs, so log as you weren't concerned about the minor detail that the crimes you were "solving" weren't actually solved.

  11. Sure! The old bamboo under the finger nail trick works almost every time! If you put yourself in the position you should expect the consequences

  12. I don't think so think of all the other who have been torture for us

i wouldnt let other go throught life like that

  13. Yes. The muslims aren't merciful or pleasant to our own innocent people. Why should we be any less ruthless with them.

  14. Torture will make people say any thing so no it should not be allowed.

  15. Sounds like something from the middle ages!  How far would we take the torture before making a decision about their honesty?

Presumably we would have to apologise if it becomes evident they were being honest all along?  Yes well that all sounds like a good idea..........unless PC Plodd asks me a question and I reply without making eye contact! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  16. There's no point in tortureing people they would just admit they did a crime just to make it stop even innocent people would admit to committing crimes. Then there would be more criminals on the streets and would you really give that much to the police? It would definitely be abused by individual police officers

  17. F*ck no!!!

You wouldn't even think about asking that question if you'd been through it (torture) yourself.

  18. h**l NO

You want your mother and brother to be tortured, you idiot?

  19. Only on Terror Suspects.

Otherwise no. Imagine you lying to your husband about having an affair and he was then at liberty to torture you into a confession?

    No no no. Sorry.

  20. Well, this method has been done for a couple of thousand of years I doubt it will change. for War is Raw uncut like that.

  21. god no

If I was being tortured I'd admit to anything!

  22. That would be a deafening NO!!!

  23. Absolutely not!!!! Besides people would admit to anything even if they hadn't done it if they were being tortured just to make it stop.

  24. no people would say anything just to make it stop.   torture is a discredited way to get to the truth.

  25. No,,.

If you are going to torture someone for the truth then YOU must know the truth in the first place, otherwise how would you know that they were telling the truth whilst being tortured?

  26. i dont think so

you either abide by human rights or you dont

if you dont, you cant really complain when islamic terrorists hack your husband's head off

  27. Sorry, have we gone back to the Dark Ages and no one told me?

Is this question for real?  Most people would admit anything to stop the torture.  Think it through.

  28. The rule of law must be respected and enforced or all our freedoms are jeopardized.  No torture should not be used.  However, in extrodinary circumstances I see limited exceptions involving national security.

  29. Colin Stagg, Barry George and anyone else who was found to be not guilty might not agree with you.

  30. No, this would be barbaric.  I would admit to anything if I was being tortured.  It is up to the courts to find the evidence through the police and forensics etc

  31. Yeah, like the police need more time on their hands. WTF are they going to do with that exactly? I don't think you get it but torture is mearly a way of getting people to say what you want to hear, not the "truth".
