Question:

Should traditional men be charged with neglect if anything happens to their wives while they're at work?

Since traditional men are the 'leaders' and 'protectors' of their family, if their wife has an accident or is attacked, aren't they failing in their duty of care?

  1. Erm... no. The man is obviously not "neglecting" a wife who is at work. Women don't need to be nannied by a man all the time, if they trip over a pencil at the office and break a leg, it's their own fault, not their husband's!

  2. Hmmmm - "He" could always stay at home and the family unit and be on benefits.  You decide.

I mean seriously, what're you on.

  3. Sam you are a bigot. Are Women errant Children? Who must be protected from their own choices and decisions? Apparently Feminists want it both ways. Adults when it comes to Economic Opportunities and Innocent helpless children when it comes to committing crimes.

Thanks for displaying your obvious and transparent bigotry.

  4. wives, no matter how shallow they've allowed their lifestyle and productivity to become, still have more competence than a child or a dog.

I see your point, but I also trust that you have the rationale to see the flaws in it.

edit: ah, I think I see what you're doing. It was a response to the question before yours.

  5. She is an adult, not a defenseless child tossed into daycare by a neglectful mother.

    So no.

  6. NO!!!! don't be absurd! WHY do you have a problem with traditional men?

  7. No.  Don't be silly.  A man cannot be around to protect his wife all the time, he's got to work for a living.

Besides, many women in relationships that are 'traditional' in the sense of having a man as leader and protector are at work themselves, so if anything happens to them there presumably the employer is liable.

  8. Traditional men ???

That would imply that there are traditional women would it not ?

I take the lead role in our house, my wife would hate it if I didn't. She has a job but if given a choice, would rather stay at home and be a housewife and mother ( her words not mine )

The only reason we both work is financial.

Maybe I'll get dissed for my answer, but we are both happily married.

I'd trust my wife to be careful at home but an accident is an accident, and same could happen to me.

As for attacks ? I wouldn't want to be on the end of an uppercut from my wife, believe me !!

  9. no, they shouldn't they're at work.. that's like TIME-OUT!

  10. No, women should be able to take care of themselves when the man is not around. Women are not pushovers.

  11. If women want 'equality', that's just one of the prices they are gonna have to pay.

  12. lol

Yes they should. They left an incompetent fool in charge of the home.

  13. Sam, you are complaining about April and then go on with a question like this.

No, traditional men shouldn't be charged with neglect. Their wives are adults, not children.

  14. Sure, twist it up however you want.

  15. That's a crazy question. Things happen that are beyond the control of anyone. The LAST thing a widower would need is to be blamed for the death of his wife, especially when it was clear he did nothing wrong.

That's about as logical as asking should a traditional wife be blamed if her husband has a heart attack from overwork because either she popped out too many kids for him to support with a less stressful job...or was too lazy to get out of the house to help make ends meet.

  16. I see what your saying, but it doesn't matter if the man is the "leader" or "protector", the fact is a grown women, weather shes traditional or not can take care of herself.

Traditional men cant really stay at home and mind his wife and work for the family at the same time.

His wife is not his responsibility anyway, she can look after herself, and the answer to your question is no.

  17. only if they believe the woman should be charged with neglect if she goes to work.....

  18. Like the question very much...the accident thing may be lucrative earner for traditional wives to claim on their husband's insurance.  But statistically if attacked in their home, wives are invariably attacked by their husbands not strangers in ski masks! So, what would that do the insurance market?

  19. I would think it would be more neglectful not to go to work, thereby not getting paid and receiving no money to support the family.

Of course you may be advocating that they lock their wives in a padded, tamper-proof steel cabinet until they get home. It could work, provided you leave an adequate supply of bottled water, I suppose.

What an absurd hypothesis you postulate. I really have not heard pure Polytechnicspeak like this for a great many years and I thought that the barking mad ultra-feminist had become extinct. Perhaps we ought to put them in zoos, that way all the men could be zookeepers and look after them whilst at work. Hurrah!

  20. A bachelor will not want to insert his p***s into you if you keep up these ungodly antics.

  21. lol.....yep, its a full time job being the hero and protecter so they should be charged with not having enough control over their women to keep them in the kitchen.....Shocking behaviour. ;-)

  22. I think your point is that working women are so often blamed for things that happen to their children while they are at work, whereas the working Dad is not blamed.  You make a good point

  23. Listen; I'm a traditional wife; when he's gone I get down and I take care of business, that's how it has to be done. I waited for him to come and rescue me that would be my loss; my stupidity; not his.  Besides; why in the h**l should I wait for him to waste time and money to rescue me; I'm no longer in diapers being carried around, because I have learned to walk a long d**n time ago!!

  24. Yes, shame on him for not checking if the pot was hot before she touched it.  Of if the knife was too sharp before she cut herself with it.  Or for letting her walk at all seeing as how she could possibly fall down.
