  1. This saturday? What about 12 midnite (Canadian time) on the 8th of August? (They say only the beams are going to be injected and no colliding). Colliding is in Oct...or is it?

What I don't get is how people can think things are going to be perfectly safe when there is NO hard science of creating a potential black hole! It's all math and theory! Not hard science.

I have my own story, frightful it may be, maybe someone can write a movie out of it:

When the LHC is turned and the collision takes place, that brief burst of incredible energy is going to create a micro-blackhole. Yeah big deal. Will it evaporate as per theoretic physics? For me, I say no, and it will grow in size. It will expand. Yeah, and many will ask, what is your scientific proof? I don't have any, just gut feeling regardless of what the professors say. But we can argue all we want. The point is useless. Many are going to say this and that.

    Continuation of the story:

In the near future of 2012, this black hole will be raging in Europe. It will attract a solar flare and the solar flare will roast the earth. Yippee!

    Just kidding....

On a lighter note: if anyone survives the outcome (if nothing happens or something happens...good or bad), then they will gain a greater insight in the cosmos...and how to proceed talking to God.

  2. No chance whatever.

No one with any knowledge or even common sense believes this scare reporting!

    .

  3. No, I certainly won't.

  4. I can tell you that you would not want to grab one of the electrical conductors of the LHC! Of course if every person who thinks the LHC will end the world did so, we would'nt have to see these questions anymore.
