"Say it, don't spray it?"

I was so embarrassed yesterday! I was at Whole Foods and this guy asked me if I wanted to sample something. I starting eating it and continued talking to him and spit out a bit of food! That happens once in awhile and it's so embarrassing! Should I apologize or just pretend I didn't see (which is what I did)?

  1. Be a little humble, say a quick, sorry, and laugh it off...

  2. If you had any etiquette and ate with your mouth closed, neither would have been necessary.

  3. When you apologize for doing something like that it doesn't UNDO it on ANY level it simply prolongs the agony.

  4. I guess if the person noticed it you'd apologize, if they didn't then pretend it didn't happen. :)

  5. apologize. might as well.

  6. You should apologize, otherwise you just look like a slob. It happens to everyone sometime so people will understand

  7. Right, and don't do it again.

  8. if they notice say sorry but if they don't, don't say anything

  9. I would just pretend I didn't notice. Wow, that would be embarrassing! Sometimes people spit while talking to me and I just pretend like I didn't notice them doing it. When they apologize it makes it even more awkward. That's just my opinion.

  10. Yes

  11. I usually cover my mouth quickly and say "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!".

  12. Yeh just say whoops sorry...and laugh about it...but if they look like they havnt noticed...which most people would...dont say ewt lol :) x

  13. Step one would be to not talk while you have food in your mouth.  But if you spit out some liquid or leftover food, just apologize graciously and shrug it off; we all do it from time to time.

  14. Apologize. Pretending it didnt happen when it obviously did will only make you look like an idiot, or an asshat, or both.

  15. I would just make a quick apology, and continue with the conversation.  Don't draw too much attention to it but don't act like it didn't happen either!

We have all done it I am sure!

    Have a good day!

  16. I'd just ask him if he was going to eat that and then pick it off his shirt.

Seriously, do not make a big deal out of it, just say, "Excuse me, first day with the new mouth..."

  17. sorry & laugh it off

  18. just pretend you didnt see it, everybody does it anyways...he probably didnt even notice!!

  19. no just walk away because its not intentional they are just not minding their manners .

if you are doing it its best not to draw attention to youreself unless they mention it .

  20. I think an apology is best. Chances are they did see it and are waiting to see your response. An apology acknowledges that you did it and feel bad about it. Say a quick "Oh, I'm sorry" and don't dwell on it.

It's happened to everyone, so they'll understand.

  21. Well, sine you already did it, and walked away I wouldn't go back and apologize.

If you just did it, then I would say sorry and just laugh it off.

But since you did it and didn't apologize immediately then don't go back and say sorry, how stalkerish would that be?!?!?!

  22. i think you should just laugh it off and apologize. if its a nice person, they'll hopefully laugh too and just brush it off. its not a huge deal, it happens to everyone.

    hope i helped =]

  23. Laugh and say "I guess you didn't want an extra shower today!"  BTW, that won't happen if you stop talking with your mouth full of food. - Your mom ;-)

  24. Say "oh my gosh!  I'm sorry, I hate when that happens"  Otherwise you look like a r****d.  Or maybe you shouldn't talk when you have food in your mouth.
