Question:

Should we baptise our daughter?

My husband and I are non practicing catholics ( but have received all sacraments), but we do believe.

We have a daughter, that I would like baptised. He says if we dont practice we should have her baptised. I believe we should. What do you think? What is the right thing to do?

Also if my husband is requested to be a godfather of another child, should he accept, I dont think he should if he doesnt even want to baptise his own child.

WHat should I do?

  1. Don't make choices for her that ultimately are hers to make.

Why don't you let your daughter grow up and make an informed choice for herself?  If she is convinced by the merits of the catholic religion when she can make an informed choice, then it will be all the more relevant to her. If not, then she has not been baptized into a creed that she does not believe in.

  2. If you do believe. Have your child baptized,

if not for your sake, do it the child's sake.

So, the child can enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

On her own. And later, when old enough, she can

    continue on her own.

Your heart will tell you, what is right. <3
