its estimated the ev1's cost around one million dollars each & they could not be used in cold climates.

they were recalled when it was time to replace their $50,000 battery's.

they were just a publicity stunt made for advertising purposes.

you can still buy an electric golf cart type vehicle anytime you want anywhere in the U.S. several companys have been making them for the past 50 years.

Obviously you've never heard of the Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid car that GM is introducing in Nov. 2010.  It has a 650 mile range.  The EV-1 only had a 100 mile range.

first, the EV1 was a lease program, and not a for sale vehicle.

second, the car was expensive to build, and expensive to repair.

these two items alone prevented that car from being sold to the public, but also consider that there were safety issues, and liability issues as well.

Only someone ignorant of the facts believe GM stopped the EV. The EV killed itself. It sucked. It cost to much, had to short a range, and to long a recharge time.

Over he years, some designs have improved them some, but most people don't want them.
