we live in Mobile alabama and these storms have been known to change plaths. Right now they say it is going to louisiana but it is not even in the gulf yet. Is there a high chance it could change direction and hit us?

  1. I would not get overly upset or worried...but would pay attention to the news all weekend ( as I am...being in Houston)...I would also have a plan in case its course does change as they are known to do.

  2. I wouldn't say there's a high chance, but there is indeed a possibility nonetheless. The projected path of hurricanes and tropical storms has been accurate and precise many times, while of course there have been major changes. The forecast models are far from perfect, but they do serve their purpose.

Depending on upper level wind patterns and pressure system locations, the track of Gustav may go exactly as predicted.

  3. Too earlier too tell yet, keep an eye on it and be ready to leave if you have too. I grab the hard drive out of my computer and the photo albums/family videos everything else can be replaced. I'm about 25 miles east of Pensacola so I'll be watching it with you.

  4. You can see the projected path of the storm, and find links to local TV and newspaper coverage, live streaming webcams in the affected areas, preparation guides, plus links to the National Hurricane Center coverage of the storm on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com

  5. I live in Gulf Shores. So we are just waiting. Pretty much that's all we can do. And be Ready to go!  It's the sitting by waiting that drives me crazy!

Hope everyone leaves and is safe when it does finally comes to shore wherever it decides to hit.
