Should we call this category Gender and Misogynist Studies?

To be more detailed would mean to take my suggestion of reading the questions in this category. Just that, it speaks volumes by itself

Nah, we should call it Gender wars, as it seems both parties are engaging and participate in it.  IT doesn't matter about the quantity in my opinion.  There can be 100 bad apples versus 1 or 2 good ones if you understand what I mean. (Quality in this case).  There's no hope for any unity here as long as "Intelligent" people in this category (Both women and men) keep trying to stab and hack at the perpetrators but keep hitting the innocents.

I'm to the point where I don't even care anymore =\, but I'm trying to remedy that by seeing if there are any questions and concerns that men need to work through in order to empower OURSELVES FOR OURSELVES, not to empower OURSELVES FOR WOMEN.  Feminists aren't trying to empower themselves for men so why should be do the reverse.

If I recall there are a lot of inflammatory remarks made by both sides in this section, misogynists and misanderers alike.  It is unfortunate that so much damage has been made to gender relations in western culture and that the seeds of hate and mistrust are planted so deep.  It is also unfortunate that equality is not achieved through either side complaining about one another and that nothing productive comes from the argument.

Good luck, and these women and men in this forum for the most part all have a point and unfortunately to some degree both are equally valid, now that is equality.

The catagory should be done away with, I reckon.

It's just become pointless and a battleground for petty little spats and nothing has ever been solved here, no laws have been changed to help either men or women and no one seems to even be willing to try and understand the other side.

On a brighter note, at least a few people here have made some friendships out of this.

Human beings can be studied using any number of disciplines.  Calling "Gender & Ladies' Studies" a "social science" is beyond laughable.  Answers to questions which pertain to history, philosophy, medicine, paranormal psychology, mythology, religion, etc. can be addressed elsewhere.  Feminism is a hate-driven philosophy that doesn't belong in academia nor on Yahoo proprietary websites.

To be clear, I refer to Feminism in the modern sense of the term, i.e. post 1985 during the era of A. Dworkin, G. Greer, et al.  This is a purely hate driven philosophy.  There are always venues for hate-driven philosophies such as White Supremacy & neo-Fascism, but they don't belong on Yahoo proprietary domain.

The moment that Feminism (modern) is eliminated from a large user base on the Y!A website, so will a corresponding decline in misogyny.

Misogyny is a byproduct of Feminism, not the converse.  Anti-feminism is a hope to restore reasonable relations between the genders.

It doesn't get any simpler than this.  Feminism is a disease.  Anti-feminism is a hope at a cure.  Misogyny is an unfortunate, though predicatable byproduct which is non-specific in its target, i.e. hatred not only toward Feminists but Normal Women as well.

In this case the terms make all the difference.  Feminists are NOT normal women.  Anti-Feminists are normal PEOPLE who don't like hate-driven philosophy.  Once this is established, we can advance as a species.

They should just put up a target and put a picture of a stereotypical feminist in the center and let all the anti-fems throw darts all day long.  maybe that would be enough to satiate their pain and anger.  Meanwhile, we can start a new positive forum for women - oh right - we already did that!

Misogynist is a word that is greatly overused on here.  I've been called a misogynist simply for stating that women are responsible for their actions and shouldn't be allowed to blame them on men, by more than one person on here.  Seriously.  So I tend to ignore it most of the time it's used on here.  The few men who do seem to be true misogynists (I think most of them are trolls looking for a reaction more than anything, although a few seem serious) aren't taken seriously by very many people anyway.

Yeah I notice that too.  I know some guys like to act tough to impress girls but the ones here are just mean and angry all of the time.  I can't believe the hate I see especially from guys that are supposed to be in college.  If this is where equality is leading I can see why there is a need for feminism.  Its kinda embarrassing to read some of the stuff these guys write.

Flyinghorse, Feminism celebrates misandrist and clearly damaged people as influential writers. Yes I know there is a lot of stupid things being said, listen, my generation have grown up listening to, "all man are rapists and that's all they are" type propaganda. We have a system that encourages female on male violence and men know they can't even raise their voice for fear of incarceration. The way feminism at the business end operates is no better than KKK or Islamists. That's what these guys are responding to.

EDIT, Yes OK I do realize that. I was born in a era here, we just view women as equal, I can't remember it any other way but it so turns out that the movement that brought this about has become a negative force in society and as a male I am targeted by this group. If anything, its polarizing us rather than bringing us together on any worthy cause.

I completely agree with your "back yard" comment. It wasn't always like this..... many men in the west feel its been brought to their own back yard by radical feminists who want something other than equality.
