  1. Of course we should care. I care about my neighbor's kids grandkids and great grandkids having a world that they CAN live in.

Thank god your grandparents cared about the world you would inherit.

  2. no unless u dont want your children todie horrible deaths

  3. I really think we should care... I'm still a kid so I definitely should think about what's ahead of us.

  4. OK no we should not care. For one we will not be here to know what is going to happen. and two we will never know what the global warming is going to be like.

  5. just get some good suntan lotion and hang on.chances are it will be your childrens problem not ours

  6. Some say that the Earths temperatures will reach 450 degrees and rain sulfuric acid while people resort to eating each other because there will be no food in just 30 years!

Yea, like this will happen.  I doubt anyone will even notice any temperature difference.

  7. Let me start off by saying we (my family and I) live 100% off of the grid and are completely self-sufficient with a 0% Carbon footprint. I believe this is the first step anyone can make “help the environment”. Once you convert your own life style to a greener more eco friendly route, you can start helping others.

We definitely didn't start global warming, but we definitely do contribute to it now.

Natural gas (or Methane along with other thanes) for example, is completely a natural contributer to global warming and is derived pretty much the same way as oil. ie. Matter (animal, plant etc) decomposes over time resulting in a anaerobic (hope I spelled that right) decay of non-fossil organic material / gas (natural gas or methane).

One problem with global warming is that the concept is so vague in the minds of the people. The critical interpretation is basically how it’s explained in school and the news. However most of the public see global warming connected with the ozone and pollutants which cause harmful greenhouse gasses, etc. therefore investigating and fighting for things like alternative energy (ie. Solar, wind, hydrogen, ethanol, biodiesel, etc)

Greenhouse gases are real and do contribute to global warming. Think of the different gas layers like ozone (o3) that circumference the globe as the clear plastic on a greenhouse. Longer rays of light from the Sun go in and reflect off different thermal masses bouncing back and creating shorter lengths of energy that cannot exist the plastic barrier. These beams then just continue to bounce around inside the green house until they’re finally absorbed completely (some do escape but very few), thereby warming the greenhouse greatly even in cold temperatures.

Basically there are 2 ways that this reaction (or lack of) affects the planet. Global warming and global cooling.

    1. as we add to the gases in the stratosphere, where the ozone layer is (Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc), we add to the plastic of the greenhouse, trapping more short wave length energy and heating the earth more.

    2. as we deplete the ozone (with chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs), we allow more long wave length energy, which bounces back out to space without heating any thermal masses on earth, thereby cooling the planet.

It’s pretty easy to see the results..

    Melting ice sheets & glaciers

    Floods & droughts

    Great hurricanes & cyclones

    Seasonal extremes

    Seasonal phenomena’s

    Species extinction

    New & resurgent diseases

There are many ways to stop both global warming and cooling from accruing or at least slow them down until we can discover a way to reverse it, but Stop burning fossil fuels is the biggest.

I currently own 2 converted h2 vehicles which run on 100% hydrogen and 1 EV (electric vehicle), not to mention our home is completely off the grid, using alternative energy (solar, wind, etc)

  8. If you read back into your history books, you'll see that the earth has been thru several warming/cooling periods-there's tropical plants under one of the poles, and here in Indiana there;s a lot of limestone with small fish fossils in it, meaning my state was once under water. I'd like to see where Al Gore got his degree in science, meteorology, etc. So if the ice caps melt some, people will have to move away from their big-bucks oceanside homes to avoid flooding-do I have sympathy? Nope! We humans are basically fleas on this little planet in this HUGE universe-our sun could go nova, a meteor could hit us, anything could happen. Notice that companies are making big $$$ by scaring people into buying "green", or doing this or that-that should tell us right there that its just a way for the gov't and private businesses to soak us for even MORE $$$$....

Live your own life-the future isn't ours to control.

  9. Since you appear to be quite young, I suspect that you will definitely still be here when more visible effects start causing problems.

Here's some of the expected near-term impacts from the latest IPCC assessment:

In Africa: "By 2020, between 75 million and 250 million people are projected to be exposed to increased water stress due to climate change."

In Australia & New Zealand: "As a result of reduced precipitation and increased evaporation, water security problems are projected to intensify by 2030"

In Asia: "Glacier melt in the Himalayas is projected to increase flooding, and rock avalanches from destabilised slopes, and to affect water resources within the next two to three decades."

In North America: "Disturbances from pests, diseases and fire are projected to have increasing impacts on forests, with an extended period of high fire risk and large increases in area burned"

  10. Global warming is a natural phase of Earth, caused by some Solar Activities by Sun. We human don't have to bother about it. Some of the environmentalist says that this is because of the CO2 we are emitting into the environment, but the reality is that we are just contributing towards 1% to 10% of actual global warming.

If the actual cause of Global Warming is CO2 emitted by the humans then why Global Warming occures on other planets. Just Google for "Global Warming on other planets" and see the results, there are no humans on other planets.

Having too little CO2 in the environment will cause for the plants to die more early, more over it also cools down the temperature on earth.

Having too much CO2 (obiviously, not caused by humans. Mostly generated in the Sea/Oceans) will lead to Green House effect and will lead in increasing the temperature on Earth.

So, the best is to plant more trees so that there would be a balance for the consumption of CO2 on the planet.

I personally think that instead of thinking on this baseless issue try to think on what if Nuclear War broke out in the world, it will destroy Earth more rapidly.

So, next time whenever somebody says you about global warming, just ignore it.
