selected few are deciding the fate of unrepresented too many. democracy is all about the rule of the, by the and for the people. majority is to rule the whole population.one can not justify the present system of justice delivery system which is heavily biased towards the selective few. the poor and the oppressed be empowered, dalit/tribals be empowered. the women/ weaker s*x be empowered. inequality be banished. poverty as well as wealth be shared in equitable manner. there can not be discrimination indispension of justice. the higher court have found technical locunae to release HAVES while sending the HAVENOTS to languise in jails for years for unjustifiable reasons. the higher court have found time to hear petitions for cricket mach transmissions in the int of the nation. and the judiciary finds no time for dalit burning, a national shame. it's time the judiciary is changed to jury system. it will empower the oppresed, the women , the dalit and will give voice to common pe0ple.

  1. Not if the muslims have an agenda. I know where you are coming from . seen your profile.

  2. if you mean to have juries decide the law as well as the facts, that leads to chaos.  People cannot regulate themselves if they cannot know what law governs their conduct.  If I propose to do something that is not a crime currently, how can I know if it will be a crime if some officer decides to arrest me and the jury is to decide if it ought to be a crime?  The business community cannot do business and no one could be safe from the random thoughts of jurors.  I recomend having the legislature and the judges find the law, and jurors find the facts.

  3. All systems are good and bad.

  4. Politics and Law are two very different subjects. We can leave running our country in the hands of illiterate politicians but it can be a mistake to leave life and death decision in the hands of bunch of bums.If you know the number of innocent people put to death every year ,you will never advocate for jury system. Some judges may be corrupt, but still better than jury.

  5. It will be worse than the present arrangement, because many are not literates nor aware of the nuances of the position.

Administration of justice demands one's patient listening to the arguments of lawyers on both sides, discovering the truth, and finally deciding inthe light of laws in force. One has to be alert enough to avoid miscarriage of justice. And no innocent person should be punished.

  6. No

  7. OUR JUDICIARY HAS BEEN THE DOYEN OF OUR DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY. IT HAS HELPED UPHOLD THE IDEALS OF OUR CONSTITUTION. BUT DO NT YOU SEE THE LARGE TIME FRAME IT TAKES FOR A CASE TO REACH ITS CONCLUSION. WELL CHANGING THE JUDICIARY TO JURY SYSTEM WILL ONLY PROLONG THE CASE AS TIME TO CHOOSE THE URY IS A LONG DRAWN PROCESS AND THIS WILL SURELY EXTEND THE WHEELS OF JUSTICE TAKING ITS REQUIRED REVOLUTION

  8. NO . BECAUSE WE HAVE VERY EFFECTIVE LAWS BUT PERSONS/AGENCIES WHO ARE TO IMPLEMENT IT ARE NOT EFFECTIVE.THIS IS WHAT THE STATEMENT GIVEN BY THE CJI OF INDIA - WHICH IS TRUE.

  9. there is a backlog of cases, so huge that in most cases justice is being delayed and hence denied......jury duty by civilians would speed things up, make us more involved in our country and its issues and yet its impractical because we dont have the kind of literacy levels that America has, let alone their kind of national pride mainfesting in their day-to-day lives - for e.g. baseball is a part of growing up american and look at the situation indian domestic cricket is.....upholding the indian penal code and dispensing justice is a big responsibility and i dont think we as a nation even have that state of mind, the collective consciousness, as yet.

so i think we ought to evolve our own system, our own version of jury duty...its already happenning what with so many tv channels taking up domestic causes on live TV throughout the day (civil cases) and crime shows (criminal cases)...thus spreading awareness and likely assisting out-of-court settlements.....

  10. its good suggestion, with all the due regards our judicial system is in shambles, there is rampart corruption, undue delays, even some/most laws are outdated.whole thing needs overhauling.

  11. We have our own tradional Judiciary system: but after the british people,we are following all the British systems; nothing to do : politicians are busy with their up-to-date wealth earning work: some others are only dummies: so nobody save us from this political people; think of the president election:
