In the entire continent, only South Africa provides its citizens with 24x7 power..

Surely this shows a lamentable lack of environmental awareness..?

  1. James James James....

Bra.... Your statement will not help save the world, because it gives a very negative view based on your lack of information..

Well what am I saying... I guess you asked this question cause you want to be corrected.. Okay my bad...

South Africa has been giving people 24x7 electricity for years until now because of Bad energy planning.. In a few years time it will be 24x7 again. However, South Africa and Africa.. Contribute such a SMALL PERCENTAGE to the worlds poluttion that even if we don't give 24x7 electricity it wont make a big difference...

How about you change your question to

"Should we congratulate all African countries except United States of America and Europe for conserving energy? "

There are other countries in Africa that have 24x7 electric supply.. even they don't constitute to the worlds polution..

the solution is not to cut electric supply but to come up with a different kind of Power supply.. I would rather appload a cuntry that is attempting to provide such an approach.. South Africa has been trying to industrialize Peble bed Nuclear Reactor Power supply.. However that project is long over due.. It has it's own Project management issues...

  2. how rude. if you do not like it keep your comments to your self.

  3. You're smoking weed again eh? No this is a bigger problem than weed - you're snorting coke!

Tis better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

    You just opened it!!!!

  4. Unfortunately it is simply about economics. For all it's economic strife South Africa has the most stable economy.

  5. You are not a South African? If you were you would know that we have a big problem with electricity here, so big that we are losing millions of rands, our economy is in a total slump, thousands of people are losing their jobs, the mines cannot function, in fact no business can function because we DO NOT have 24/7 electricity per day. You must have read about it? Where do you get your information? What about Namibia and Botswana? What about Egypt, Morocco and the Ivory Coast? Please supply us with a proper link to substansify your claim, it would be greatly appreciated.

  6. The other counties in Africa you speak of don’t use electricity only because there is none. They have grass huts with dirt floors, and are as just a poor as their floors. The liberal’s just sit around and marvel at what pristine way of live they have while they sip on tea and have croissants brought to them by servants. So I would say, that South Africa is the only state over that got it together.

  7. No, South Africa actually leads the continent with their pioneering work with the Pebble Bed Nuclear Reactor.

  8. Didn`t think that the vast majority had electric anyway.

  9. so what do you want to do..........slap their wrist, and send them back to pre-civilisation ?.....

  10. Dont worry dude, that is changing.

Power interruptions are a daily occurrance (PLANNED and unplanned).

Water interruptions are a daily occurrance.

    So resources ARE being conserved.

    So There!

  11. It demonstrates the inability of the other nations to provide power due to the west controlling the flow of money,,,

  12. could be true...

  13. You seem to be slightly misinformed on this issue as regards electricity in South Africa. We could not possibly conserve anymore electricity than we are already forced to. Here is a link for you to update yourself and face the reality of this matter in South Africa:

    http://www.news24.com/News24/South_Afric...

    So...please DO congratulate us!

  14. It really depends on the way they generate power

  15. And what country do you live in? Does your country conserve energy? What level of environmental awareness is there in your country? Sweep infront of your own door before you sweep infront of mine.

  16. Uhmmmm... so does the US, and the UK, and Australia and... and ... the list goes on.

I know Nigeria has no power and work on generators. Im sure thats as bad for pollution as electricity.

I dont think any other countries in Africa would care about the environment since they are dealing with lack of food and protection/crime issues.
