  1. If GMF is so harmless howcome it causes breast cancer for women

  2. doesn't that like mess up the nutrients and other molecules inside the foods... and maybe will cause diseaes?

  3. absolutely not

  4. yes we should. when we genetically modify foods we can put more nutrients and vitamins in them. its called super vitamins. you see them mostly in m.r.e. meals our troops eat on the battlefield. they can even remove toxins and other things in foods that cause health problems in people. genetically engineered food are helpful for the fact that when the farmers have a bad growing season and harvest we can lean on the modified foods. anyone that thinks or says that modifying food messes with the nutrients evidentally didnt goto college or even pay attention in school.

  5. Yes, as long as it isn't produced in excess (there are still orgainic choices, etc.) and there aren't any harmful chemicals used in the process.

  6. If we stopped producing GMOs, we may as well do without modern medicine. Many drugs are produced from GM bacteria. GM yeast is used in beer. Vegetarian cheese is made with GM bacteria as well. Let's drop the misinformation and hype. If someone can give me a valid, *scientific* reason why GM foods should be banned right away, I'm listening. What some crackpot writes on a website does not count.

You want to know how many crackpots exist out there? I've seen websites that claim:

    1. That the earth is not really round, but flat

    2. That DNA is not a helix

    3. That the earth's axis has shifted

    4. That a team of U.S soldiers visited an alien planet in 1978

Just ask me and I will give you the links. Very entertaining reading if you can avoid screaming and tearing your hair out.

Why would you trust a website that said GMOs were all 'bad' without backing it up?

There are definitely social, economic and environmental issues associated with GMOs but banning them is the wrong way to address that problem.

  7. All the answers that say no are funny because all our corn and grain seeds have been genetically modified since the early 1800's.

  8. People against genetically modified foods are grossly uneducated in genetics and horticulture.  They just assume that it is bad for you and use labels like 'frankenfood' to make it sound unnatural.

Genetically engineered foods are the future.  People are starving around the world and food has even been refused by countries in Africa for being genetically engineered.  Proteins, carbohydrates, and other nutrients are metabolized in the body the same way regardless of how they are assembled.

It is a new technology so it is natural for people to have fears about it, but most fears are unfounded and perpetuated by those that know absolutely nothing about the process of genetic engineering or basic biology or biochemistry for that matter.

World hunger must end someday and that goal is unobtainable without GE food.  Once people thought the world was flat and the sun revolved around the Earth.  Those people didn't know what they were talking about, but they'd stand by their views vehemently.

It is just a matter of time.  I have no personal qualms about eating GE food.

  9. Most GMF are very safe and are very useful. It's normal for people to not accept something that isn't totally natural.  You'd be surprised that most all of the food you eat is genetically modified, whether its done in a lab or whether it's been done by hybridizing.

  10. Yes because people eat it.
