Should we destroy the uniqueness of mars to make a new earth?

I know humans are gonna need to have a lot more room if population levels increase in the future like they have recently, and Mars seems to be the most viable planet for colonization/terraforming. But should we destroy something so unique and incredible as mars to make room for more people?

What an odd question. Each snowflake is unique - should we take steps to preserve them before they become part of the snowpack or melt? Mars is about as unique as Earth, there are probably about a billion planets exactly like Mars in the universe. Why wouldn't we go there and adapt it to our needs, so long as there are no current residents to object. It's like saying "Hey, Florida is really pretty, let's make everyone move out so it stays that way." It's there, it can be terraformed with technology we're likely to have in a hundred years or so, along with Venus. I don't see the appeal of a frozen desert exposed to far more radiation than Earth, but once it's terraformed it might be nice. If you want pristine red rocks and odd rock formations, try Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park in Utah. It's a lot closer than Mars, too.

Good question, we still have so much room on the earth though e.g sweeden is a huge country with lots of land and a small population compared to the mass. That if we simply immigrate and mix a bit more then we will have enough room in the world even thousands of years later.

We'll be dead by the time that happens. if anything, we'll populate the moon and/or have discovered methods or travel that take us far beyond the mere millions of miles we can go now.

No we should not - we are slowly ruining earth and people are just learning now that we have to look after our planet. I think it isn't to late to save our planet but some of the damage has been done and beyond repair. I would suggest that we stay away from the idea of living on Mars because we have already damaged our planet, I think humans are going too far if they want to start destroying our Solar System. We will not have a over population crisis because the natural disasters and what people do to themselves will keep the population down.

I don't think that will be a problem. Various groups have done studies showing that the population capacity of Earth is around 8-10 billion and that the growth we now experience will level off somewhat and oscillate around that capacity until a variable is somehow introduced.

I should also note that Mars is far from beautiful and pristine. There is hardly any atmosphere, the temperatures are normally dozens of degrees below zero, there are almost constantly massive sand storms, and there is no ozone to protect against UV rays.

we've screwed up this planet and the big cheese's are ready to bail to s***w up another! We have the obligation to fix what was screwed up here- everyone, but especially those that have PROFITED from this!

We humans have already caused harm to this planet, now I think we are heading towards MARS 4 ur future livlihood & we would be committing d same mistake again.Isn't very selfish of us ? We must try 2 find other options 4 it.Destroying the uniqueness won't guarantee us that we would use MARS better than we did our planet EARTH.

Would it really matter? I mean, there is no life on mars (at least as of right now). And sure it is beautiful, but mankind is going to have to live somewhere once we leech this planet of all it's resources. Mankind will die out within the next several thousand years anyhow, so why not try to extend our insignificant existence?

None of us today will live to see the impact of any such

destruction of Mars...at the rate mankind is going right now,

Earth itself will soon be rid of it.  There's enough destructive

power at mankind's fingertips to destroy mankind and most

other forms of life as we know it many times over...however, this is not the scary part, the scary part is that IDIOTS have their fingers on the buttons of destuction!

who cares about mars? lets move to the moon its closer. bubble cities yeah
