fine if you dont want to drill for oil

continuing on paying or $4 a gallon and see where it gets you at in your wallet

  1. We already have the following alternative resources at our disposal:

    biodiseal

    hydroelectric power (Niagra Falls, dams)

wind power (wind turbines: plans to move them to the ocean where they will be in no one's backyard)

    ethanol

These are already here and being tapped.  We just have to buy cars that use them.  Which really aren't more expensive than buying a car that uses oil.  Also, even if we do drill for our own, it won't affect the gas prices for years.

"There have been many factors behind the increase in oil prices in recent years, including high demand from China, tight global supplies and inadequate exploration investments in the 1990s. Political tensions, especially in the Gulf, where more than 60 percent of the world's oil reserves are located, have also played a big part in the quadrupling of oil prices since around 2000."

  2. Yeah, I did this with my black and decker once.

Struck a gusher. Cost a lot to have the pipeline repaired though...

  3. your preachin to the quire here! i still cant believe people are disagreeing with you! dumb libs on Y!A. for starters they say c**p like it would take 6 years before we could use the oil we drill up. that is a very stupid statment because the GREEN stuff we are devolping would take 30 to 40 years before the general public would benift from that c**p.. its maddness its like saying "it would take me all day to paint my house so im going to wait until until they invent house painting robots and let them do it". they also say "oil is sold on an open market it would still cost 150 a barell" thats total c**p! there is no law saying we have to buy oil from an oil market. if we already own it we dont pay anytjhing for it duh!

  5. What many people don't realize is the oil companies already have millions of acres available to them for drilling and they're not using it. Could it be they just want President Bush to give them ANWR before he leaves office?

  6. Absolutely.  Alaska is full of oil, untapped, with reserves greater than that of Saudi Arabia's. Obama should stop trying to appease the arrogant environmentalist and start caring about what we are going through.  Which is more important: 30 trees, a bear and 2 squirrels, or the United States economy?  Liberals....

  7. Nay why drill in our own country when we can rely on the middle east to keep our supply running...........

It will do us good if they just decide to stop shipping oil  - especially in the dead of winter then we can burn every tree on the continent and truly upset the environmentalists.

  8. "Whole continent"? You're thinking too small. There's an entire sun up there, just waiting to power our stuff.

And I disagree that "we cant just wait for another energy source," as you say. I grew up learning about solar power (and ethanol) in elementary school. Now I'm thirty. It's not new technology. I took a trip up to Canada in 1997 and there was Ethanol available at every gas station we went to.

We don't need a new energy source. We need to be more responsible and efficient with the energy sources that we have.

Hey, I'm all for killing fish and destroying coral reefs if absolutely necessary, believe me. If it's a choice between them and me, no question, let's drill. But no, I am not comfortable destroying those things when there exist perfectly acceptable alternatives to unnecessarily tampering with the ecosystem(s).

Your boy McCain wants to build more nuclear power plants to solve the problem. NUCLEAR FR*CKIN POWER PLANTS. So, who's "retarted"?

  9. Absolutely.

  10. Obama is correct. We cannot drill our way out of this mess.

You should research Hubbert's Peak Theory. As it is applied to oil it is called "peak oil."  The US has already tapped out most of the easy to access oil fields. The new oil fields in the US are expensive to access and not as bountiful as previous fields which are now depleted. The US maximum output of oil was in the early 1970s. We will never be able to produce at such a rate again. It's simply impossible.

The world is going through a similar peak in production. Next year the world will produce less oil than it did this year. The fact is, China, US, and other countries demand more oil and there is not enough to go around. This causes oil prices to increase. Oil prices are on the up side of a U curve. You can expect oil prices to double every 18 months.

    E. F. Schumacher published information about this in the 1960s and accurately predicted the oil crises in 1973 and he also predicted the current oil crises that we are currently experiencing. The war for oil in the Middle East has been predicted for decades.

I know this is not the answer you wanted, but I suggest that you reseach it for yourself if you are interested in the truth.

  11. "DRILL FOR AMERICAN OIL NOW!"

By the way you can find this bumper sticker below. I ordered a few.

Yes, Yes, Yes, we should drill for our own oil and stop depending on foreign oil.
