Question:

Should we eat eggs at all.....?

I have been thinking about this question lately and I was wondering if anybody else out there thinks that eating eggs is a little strange? I mean, something just doesn't seem right to me about eating 'gametes', let alone those from another species.

Another issue I am questioning is the inclusion of cow's milk in the diet - why are so many of us drinking the mammary secretions naturally intended only for calves? Imagine a calf drinking human breast milk...does that seem right to you? These days so many of us are so used to drinking milk that it just seems like the norm, but is it really?

Just let me know what you think - I am open to all opinions :)

  1. If you go out to the wild you will see many animals eat other animals eggs..

cows milk is not the only milk that humans consume.. the first milk ever consumed was theorized to be sheep or goat's milk.. however, cattle became the most domesticated farm animal so it was just "natural" to switch to cow's milk as it was the most abundant..

calves can drink human milk if they have to.. Cow's milk in powdered form has been a major player in providing nutrition to those who have limited sources of nutritious food.. not all people have access to supermarket shelves.. milk has been a staple of food relief programs

you can also ask this question: is it "natural" for humans to cook their food since all other animal species do not cook their food (producing fire is not a natural ability )..

  2. Hey, eggs are very nutritious...they're rich in iron and the vitamin B12.

  3. I'm vegan, and in my opinion, eating those things just isn't natural. You see animals in the wild eating each other, and even though the treatment of farm animals raises ethical questions, it is natural to eat meat. No animal naturally drinks breastmilk past infancy, especially not the milk of another species. And I know reptiles eat eggs, but humans are mammals and, to me, it doesn't seem natural for us to. This is, of course, only my opinion, and there is no right or wrong answer.

  4. We also eat pig's butt for breakfast, but I don't hear anyone complaining. It's good for you (or good-tasting, depending on what you're eating). Think about all those "added" ingredients in food nowadays, too - half the stuff we eat isn't actually food anymore, anyway.

  5. Well, many other animals would eat it... because it's a source of nutrition. We are omnivores afterall, so that is why some of us eat it. I don't eat it myself, but I don't think it's that weird.

  6. Egg yolks has way too much cholesterol.  210 mg per yolk.  You are suppose to have about that much in one day so if you have two eggs or three then you are having tooo much cholesterol.   The white give you a lot of protein and no fat.  It is a good source of protein.   milk is really not that good for you except when you are younger and need the fat.  soy milk is a better option for calcium when you get older.

  7. The whites

  8. Mmmm.  Eggs are delicious when they are cooked.  I like them with cheese... maybe in an omelet.  They are also good in a lot of tasty recipes for stuff.

  9. An egg a day is healthy for the hunam

    Cow's milk is also good.

Both chickens and cows are animals, not humans.

  10. I see what your saying I don't eat eggs because we are basically eating hens babys and that's not right!!! So I don't eat eggs no more and I'm happy with my choice... so what if its good for you its still not right
