Question:

Should we eliminate bears and sharks?

There was a just a news story stating that it isn't safe to be outside in Anchorage Alaska at night because there has been so many bear attacks. You can't swim in the ocean without being attacked by a shark! This is crazy! Like Howard Stern say's, "Get rid of them!" Anyone else agree?

  1. A human can harm you or kill you at any moment..lets eliminate all of them too.

  2. I can already tell you your comments from this are not very good because why would you ask to kill living creatures in a Zoology section? Also as long as i have lived i have never witnessed or seen a shark at the beach. i have seen jellyfish though an they are 10 times worst. So think about what you say next time.

  3. Oh, you poor dear. Shall we get rid of everything in the world that frightens you? How about cars, since they can run over you? You could also kill yourself by over-eating; do we get rid of food? One of the presumptive presidential candidates frightens me; should we get rid of him? Well, ... I sort of hope we do    but at the ballot box.

  4. I completely disagree.

Let's take sharks for example.  They are at the top of the food chain, consuming fish lower down in the food chain.  These fish then consume algae and other living organisms which can potentially destroy coral reefs.  Without coral reefs our oceans would be in a sad state, and as oceans provide us with much of the oxygen we need to breathe it would essentially be like cutting half the world's forests down (which we seem to be doing anyway).  For this reason alone, sharks are very important.

And there are only ten fatal shark attacks a year, while there are thousand and thousands of fatal car accidents for example.  So really, if you want to keep yourself safe, stop driving a car and swim in the ocean every day.  Odds are better that way.

And quite frankly, in my opinion, bears and sharks have about as much right to be here, or perhaps even more, than humans.

  5. i dont like that. theyre  living creatures do u really want to kill them. also that would totally mess up the food chain!!!!1

  6. No fat hairy g*y men and no lawyers?   NEVER!

  7. First off, Howard Stern is a moron. Secondly, s***w humans. Sharks and bears were there first and they're cooler anyway.

  8. Absolutely not. I say get rid of 1/2 the humans on earth and give the wildlife a chance.

Oh, and stay out of the water and the woods if you don't like sharks and bears.

  9. If you are dumb enough to dwell in an area where dangerous animals are, you deserve to be eaten.

  10. We'd be over ran by fish! I believe these attacks were of self defense. I mean, I live in Florida. I've never witnessed a shark attack. And usually Sharks are attracted to shiny objects, and blood, and if someone is ticking them off.

Bears are another story.. They are attracted to food. I live in PA for a bit and my dad seriously walked into a bear. My dad was taking out the garbage and the bear smelled it. My dad ran back home and scared it off with his shot gun. (he didn't kill it)

I believe all these attacks are by humans.
