From this article it sounds like the tipping point is here and we cannot do anything about it anymore.

Will you continue to try to cut your CO2 output, or just give up?

  1. I don't know how much we can do to help, but I don't think we should ever give up doing what we can to help.

  2. yes, of course we should keep going! you know that saying that you always hear in stories and stuff? "things just got worse, and even more worse. but eventually..." yeah, that saying. everything will be fine, just keep praying!

  4. If human-induced Global Warming occurs, then not caring anymore will only hasten our own descent into endangerment and eventually extinction.

The Polar Bear may beat us there, but we aren't that far behind.  So we should probably continue to care if only to save ourselves.

And if human-induced Global Warming doesn't occur, while we may not have an affect on it we could cut down on pollution's effect on us.

These various particles and chemicals that are showing up in our food, water, air, and ground are considered the major reason for the rise in heart disease, lung disease, cancers, etc.  So even if we can't save the Polar Bear no matter what we do, we can still save ourselves by continuing to care.

So I'd still go with yes.
