so my son was just diagnosed with a high allergy to mold that helped to trigger his recent battle with pnammonia. our house we live in is pretty old and requires alot of maintence work, i cannot think of where else the mold would come from. im assuming that mold removal would be pretty expensive. should we pay the costs or just rent somewhere else?

  1. Rent somewhere else. If it's an old house then the mold is probably in the walls, under the floors, etc... all places that would cost a lot and it would be a pretty big job...

However if you're renting, then the landlord should take care of it. You could always check.

  2. I can't argue against moving if that's a real option. Mold is a very serious matter. Here is a list of symptoms:

However, Check out the remarkable research on toxic mold removal done by environmental expert Dr Ed Close. Simply diffusing a therapeutic-grade essential oil regularly in this building will likely result in an environment very hostel to mold.

Cost of diffuser and a couple bottles of Thieves oil: about $200.

Additional benefit: Look at the Bacteria page and note the pneumonia bug doesn't like Thieves either...

Ideally you might get the house tested so you know exactly what it is you're dealing with. And, if there IS a high concentration of mold, it would give you a baseline to see how well the Thieves trick worked. Look in the yellow pages for something like "environmental professional" or "environmental engineer" or "industrial hygienist" or "indoor air quality specialist." Test may run about $400.

  3. MOVE!

if its causing someone in your house to have health issues move.

  4. Toxic mold exposure is often misdiagnosed as respiratory illnesses.  Toxic mold grows inbetween walls or basements or ceiling or crawl spaces where no sunlight can reach and where their is a constant water source like from a leaking pipe. Double check your home for any old water leaks. If toxic mold is present then you guys need anti-fungal meds asap especially your son. If this is the case i would just move, once you have been exposed to toxic mold your highly susceptible even to minute amounts in the future.

  5. move. then take spelling lessons.

  6. If I were you, I will rent somewhere else!

  7. I would move if I were you

  8. Before you decide to move let the home owner know you are thinking about moving because of the mould  and if they are good land lords they may pay for the  removal of the mould themselves and by right they should ........... Its up to you whether or not you like the place ........  If all else fails.............. MOVE...................Cheers to you

  9. i would move.
