Question:

Should we get rid of scottish bank notes?

There are at least three types, Royal bank of scotland, bank of scotland, clydesdale. What a waste and complication

Despite being legal tender you can't spend them anywhere in England (a Pakistani shopkeeper in Hackney wouldn't know what they are)

Lets replace them with notes from the bank of ENGLAND.

ENGLAND is the primary country in the union, and ENGLAND should provide the notes.

  1. yeh.....get rid of Scoland too

  2. I would stick with Scottish notes.  They are at least from real banks with branches.  I've never had a problem with Scottish notes in our English colony

  3. I have never had a problem spending Scottish notes in England. We accept Irish notes so why should we all change to suit England? Let the English change their notes to Scottish ones!

  4. Your quite right. There is a strange connection between England and Scotland. Either we together, or were separate. Makes no sense why there needs to be so much confusion.

  5. Scottish notes are a work of art not dull and boring like the English notes. If you had a suitcase full your Pakistani shopkeeper in Hackney would take them without question.

  6. yes get rid of them, and give them there independance

  7. Mmm..I suppose your right. We could relate the BOE notes to their founder's origin and call them Scottish Banknotes too...

  8. I'm quite pleased we have those notes, I was in a hotel bar with some friends and I was up paying for a round but the barman wouldn't take my scottish note. I told the usual, its legal tender so you have to take it. They had a scottish flag outside the hotel, they take euro but they refused this note?

They gave me the round of drinks free!
