Should we go back to using a Posser (washing dolly) and washboard with a zinc tub?

Would that please the Greens?

Would the extra exercise help combat obesity?

  1. Uhh..no,not I...

  2. Zinc tub? Luxury!  Take your washing down to the canal and hit it with a stick.  It doesn't clean your clothes very well, but it does wonders for your pent-up aggression.

  3. No, that type of washing uses more water than an efficient machine. I'm what you call a "Green". I don't plan on giving up my modern machines, but I use a fraction of the energy to power them. I don't think it is realistic to go back to the stone ages, but we don't need to waste energy either, simple things like unplugging your phone charger when you aren't charging your phone, adjusting your thermostat a few degrees and buying snergy star appliances when you have to replace them can all conserve energy.

I've compared energy use with my neighbor who has the same style home I have, I am home all day and they both work, so they are only home in the evening. They use an average of 93kwh per day and I use 40kwh per day. The fact of the matter, my being aware of my energy usage saves me about $200 per month. They also fill 2 large garbage cans each weak and my 1 can is never more than 1/2 full. I don't live like a hippie, my home looks just like any other, if you look into my fridge there isn't anything weird, I don't eat tofu and seaweed. I eat healthy and local.

  4. Perversely, you will probably use more water for rinsing than in an energy efficient washing machine. Making safe drinking water is an energy intensive business and it is waste to use it for washing, especially as I have to pay for water. Also, a washing machine is likely to be more efficient than a hand wash, and if you have to wash things twice, then this is a complete waste.

I always try and fill my machine to its optimum capacity and use the 40 degree cycle (I would use 30 degrees if my machine had the option) for all but my heavily soiled clothes. When I replace it I will be looking for a AA economy model with a low temperature wash option.

I am a "green" but I am not stupid!

  5. Do you really think the obese fattys would choose between Mc D's or washing cloths on a rock.

  6. Get Solar panels if your that worried!

  7. INO, exercising more would not combat obesity.. because it is not that people dont exerise.. its the way people eat.. and oh.. exercise.. you cant become healthy by just exercise.. you must have a healthy diet tooooooooooooo

it is nf you wish to become green, Id avise you to talk to plants so they can grow fuller lol alllllllllll plants and trees you come across lolll  and makesure you provide water.. equal amount of water for each.. equality is the key and dont forget to steal peoples cig from their mouths.. and flatten peoples tires.. and stop using hot water and the stoves.. because those factories.. are just burning up fuels.. and stop eating.. i think your f**t..methane gas is killing the enviroment.. and hand some people tic tacs lolllllllll thatll save hte enviroment lol

  8. no...i think than would be too inconvenient. But the following method was done in Israel to conserve water (another way to go green). You can take the pipe that carries the dirty water from the washing machine down the drain, and have it lead outside instead to water the grass. This way, you are re-using water that otherwise you would have just "thrown away".

    Hope it helps!!!

  9. When will people realise that Green issues are an invention of the government to justify further stealth taxes.

Most people already know not to be wasteful and dont uneccessarily pollute,we dont need the likes of a hypocritical, corrupt and incompetent government lecturing us everytime they mess up the economy and need a repair patch.

  10. Hahahaha.

  11. I imagine the people who say we should go green and ditch our washing machines have never done a load of washing lol. Well im not ...i hte even loading the machine so im certainly not going to wash by hand lol :)

  12. No, what we need to give up is burning coal for electricity (but given that the Greens are paid by the fossil fuel industry that's not likely to happen so you'll see them continue to promote useless technologies like wind and solar while lying about nuclear fission)..

Obesity is better solved by eating less (not different or home made or 'organic', but less).

  13. God No!!

  14. No dont be an eco warrior theres no need
