Should we go to an all inclusive resort in Cabo San Lucas?

Question

From what I've seen, the hotels in Cabo look nicer than the all inclusives but I'm worried that the restaurants/hotel food will end up being expensive and that I would end up spending a lot more on food if i didnt go to an all inclusive hotel.

Why wouldn't anyone go to an all-inclusive if it's only a bit more expensive than a regular hotel?

Hola.  Yes you are right, all our hotels are amazing.  But don't forget, the few all-inclusives we have are also right up there.  Most are at least a 5 star and most are closest to the action, so therefore you don't have to worry about transportation, or missing out on any of the events or activities offered.

If its your first time in Cabo, it makes more sense to go to an all-inclusive and have everything taken care of.  Most people I meet, that come back a second time (and they all do because Cabo is great!) stay at the luxury spa hotel.  Then when they come back a third time, they always stay in a condo and stay for longer.  Or buy a timeshare and come back every year.  

You are right, spend a few extra dollars and go into an all-inclusive first!

well food in mexico is 3x less expensive than in the States.

But restaurants in mexico are the same price.

I have looked into it and to me it seems to me if you buy your own food and drinks it is cheaper and you can actually stay a few days longer. Plus, if you leave the resort you have to buy your own food and drinks anyway. Definitely research.

also look into http://www.cabovillas.com/ I stayed in villa helena 2 years ago with a group of friends and had a great time. You get your own pool, hot tub, kitchen, bbq, maid service..etc.. if you have enough people to split it for the week, it is definitely worth it! you can even get your own private chef, or save money buy stocking up on food and doing some cooking on your own.
