  1. no....philosophy's basic nature is to question. philospher's role in society is to question the very nature of existence and logic. faith is indicative to spirituality while philosphy is just intellect...a means to an end, or more over, and understanding.


  2. expressed as a logical statement "we should have faith in philosophy" this  represents a contradiction in terms(mutually exclusive terms); Faith concludes in "knowing" and philosophy is the search for knowledge . . . .  

    Should we have faith that Philosophy is worthwhile? Yes, because it teaches that we need to strive to understand faith.

  3. NO! That is precisely the problem with philosophy's acceptance--people take it on faith instead of understanding its logic, logic which anyone can rationally argue "for or against"--without the use of faith--if they only understand the priciples.

    Philosophy is supposed to be the remedy against the need of faith.

  4. Not at first, because it gives the allusion that it is the salvation from faith.  Ultimately, though.  The path must be chosen upon faith...but based in truth...you will choose wisely...
