  1. no that would never work and just make football a sham

but refs do need t2 things to happen to improve

    1

they need to start using replays for big decisions

and goal line cameras to decide dodgy goals

    2

they need to be held accountable for mistakes they make

if they dont give a blatant penalty or miss what should have been a red card then they should explain themselfs or appologise to the fans and mangers of that club

  2. The answer lies with the last word of your question. It's only a "game" the importance of which has been blown out of all proportion by the obscene amounts of money now involved in it.

  3. 1 , 2 or even five ref's, we are not addressing the problem. When they have got it badly wrong, they should have a ban from refereeing two matches. AND THEIR INCOMPETANT decisions reversed

  4. Well Struthie my old pal the Dundee Utd fans should have had the right to SHOOT Charlie Richmond on Sunday. I am embarrassed by his decision not to award Wee Roy the Bhoy from Cork a PK because it was a stonewaller mate.

I was sitting watching it and thought at the time it was a definite penalty and after watching the repeat on TV, well it is a no brainer.

If that was against us then I'd have penned a very cutting letter to the refereeing committee.

Yes I agree with you, if a ref is having a mare, then send him off.

  5. yeah

  6. not sure if we should sub the refs, but I think they should get lower division games if they have some shocking decisions...

United were very unlucky yet again because of refs...the united guy who sent naka flying into the ref should get a medal though, the second ref was a wee bit better..

  7. Easy get Naka. to crash into them.

  8. Id go one better and give people the power to shoot them.the standard is appalling at the moment and to get £800 a game is a joke......struthy,might try the tattoo masel next year.go down to the annual army v navy rugby game at twickers instead  but might make both now.

  9. Have to admit iv'e never thought of that! now you've mentioned it, it makes perfect sense we should also be able to fine refs for having a bad game.

The ref in the middle at united didn't have a bad game though just one bad decision! he went off "injured" after that (silently putting my sniper rifle away)

  10. No - that's just stupid u ***!

  11. Although appealing in its concept, it would unfortunately be implausible as there are not enough officials available to cover every SPL game every week.

What might be considered, is that if you salary all the officials and make them accountable for their actions, and then have an independent observer monitor their performances, you might see a marked improvement.

  12. Let's not make the game any more complicated.

Celtic are leading Rangers, the ref is having a stinker,he is substituted,Rangers win the match.

    I would emigrate.

  13. you will end up with 6 or 7 refs during old firm games..lets hope we never need to go down that road.

  14. should just send them to south america to train ,if you make a mistake there you usually dont make the next game.or your next meal .

  15. agree except for eddie smith and charlie richmond hey mr struth like my wee badge hugs to joe

  16. Mmm... Who would decide if they're having a bad game.

If it's an impartial panel the old firm would never finish a game..
