Should we help those homeless or not

I am talking about the homeless people who you can find easily in cities.

good thing about helping them is they can sustain their lives.

bad thing about helping them is that they may use money for drugs and stuff and they will become too dependent

What is the right way?

you should help them. Unless they are not stupid enough to use their only money on drugs, i think they will use their money the right way.

yes i belive in comunity based outreach programs, Ex: soup kitches, food banks, shelters, back to work programs, detox & recovery programs, etc. i think these should be run by churches & other non-profit organizations that can apply for federal & state grants, I also think thes programs should be implemented in our prisons.

In the city where I'm a student, it happens to me all th time to bump into people who ask me for money, mostly saying that they are running out of monny and they need some to buy themselves a bus ticket, or to buy themselves medicines or to pay the rent. I now know that most of them are just lying and that what they say is just another pityful line to obtain what they want for us. And recently I heard on TV about an old man in my country who pretended to be homeless and whithout any money to live while he had quite a nice account in the bank. That is why I am more attentive to people that are asking me for help and don't get money out of my pocket as easily as I used to do.

I believe that there are so many people in every place who are in a bad situation for real, but here, in this city, are too many liars.

Don't give them money....give them food or water.

That way they can eat and they will not spend money on drugs etc...

Since you are feeling conflicted, you could devote your efforts to assisting children or the working homeless.  These populations of folks are the invisible homeless.

Hopefully if yu help them;they use the money the right way, and not spend it on drugs && other useless things.
